I have had my long share of time on this game, played for a team, and still play it. I no longer reccomend it, for the reasons below~

Positives-:

A great F2P model with only characters needed to buy, which you can earn very quickly (Which I have learnt over my 3 accounts)
Very unique character design, with a few cliques here and there, other than that it is very unique for how much Overwatch fans give it grief for how it looks. Even if, yes, someone like Fernando looks similar to Reinhardt or Evie // Inara looks similar to Mei, it is completely different with unique kits and cards, something I will come onto next.
There are cards in this game. Ones which you buy once per game to counter enemy Champions, removing any need to change Champion, although you cannot change the champions in the middle of a match, anyway. These consist of doing more damage to shields, slowing down healing on enemy targets, getting more healing from your teammates, running faster and much more. You earn credits to purchase these in game by capturing points, killing others, tanking damage etc.
And, then there are card decks, and card legendaries. You can choose your deck at the start of the match and every character comes with one basic legendary and one basic deck, which isn't usually very good, so a player always has this artificial advantage. I will get onto the negatives of this in the next section. The Legendary cards can completely changing your characters kit and playstyle. This makes the game more fun and makes the game feel like it has more characters, artificially.
The game has a few maps, with mostly good flow and balance, especially how the maps are mirrored.
The game recently added a new pre-game UI, which tells you if you have a lack of a certain Champion subclass. To add to that; most characters are sorted into subclases. Some don't fit, as e.g. A flank in the game, named Zhin, has a lack of movement in his kit, especially vertical movement, so he could most likely be classed as a damage, but for instance, a damage named Willo, could be placed in the Flank subclass for her movement ability and ultimate.

Negatives-:
The games F2P model is hindering for the first few levels of the game no matter how easy it is to earn the champions. Most of the base characters are quite weak, and can lack. When someone has paid money on the game, they will have mostly, the upper hand when it comes to character selection and what you want to play.
The card system, the card DECK system to be more specific, is quite unbalanced. You can pay for chests, and then use those chests to get a currency called 'Essence' The game does not start you off with enough essence when it comes down to you only have enough to make a good deck for around 2 characters. When a character can afford enough for a good deck for almost all of the characters, -Keep in mind the chests that give you essence also give you cards and basic customisations which don't really effect your character unless you pay more of the in game paid currency, crystals-
The games competitive gamemode is difficult to unlock **Speaking of ranked 1.0 of the time of this review** And is a very player lacking system. You are more lucky to find players under a rock. The system is also broken on how it works, but most of this will most likely be fixed in the 2.0 patch coming later this week. With this lack of players the matchups are usually unfair, especially for new players or players who lack skill. The communication system is also dodgey.
The game also houses many, many toxic players. You are very likely a prime target to be flamed if you are new to a game and only own a basic deck for your favourite character because you have not spend money on this free game and cannot afford a loadout for this character.
There is a quest system with this game, which you only unlock at level 7. These 4 quests refresh weekly and reward essence or gold. Level 7 is a drag, I personally think you should earn them at level 5, after the bot games have finished.
To add onto that, the bot games are there for players to learn new things about the game, but that isn't very helpful when the bots have aim better than most players and can detect stealth and other things.
The daily login system has improved, but still needs a few changes, you get incresed gold throughout the week and then you get essence then a few crystals on the 7th day. I feel you should earn more from these.

Now, the main reason I do not recommend this game, is its rapidly declining playerbase, and toxic community, as mentioned earlier. This game has a lot of potential, but needs to be found by fixing the games many bugs, balancing the Champions to their best extent, and making this game fair for all skill levels.

This is Paladins, the game which is an Overwatch ripoff, so to speak.

Thank you for reading and I appreciate all feedback.

The good parts.

Fun RTS elements to make a good, playable game.
Low capabilities- You don't need to spend £1000 on a computer to run this game
Anti P2W - The game lets you buy better versions of the originals but, you can't go into normal MM to use it, there is a special MM mode called "Ultimate" (There is also downsides to this and some of the other reasons, I will now state them)

The bad parts.

This new thing called "Basecamp" Is probably going to turn into a reskin of CoC to just grab money unless they make some SIGNIFICANT changes to it
MM is broken - I am a low rank in the game (Iron 12 to be specific) I go into Ranked MM (Puts you against people of >YOUR< (Supposed) Rank and makes a fair game. But, that isn't what happens. I get put up against diamond 2s and they build like 20 tanks in the first minute or so, and destroy us, due to them having the stronger army. Carbon games, PLEASE FIX!!!
When I try to go into ultimate (Explained earlier) I just have to wait for about 10 minutes and then my teammate leaves so it exits the queue. There isn't ANYONE on ultimate MM. (Maybe make it easier to unlock diamonds and maybe easier to collect them. This also needs a solution to it.)
Quite laggy gameplay and bad selection of server location. - Due to the lack of people of MM all around, you either get put with someone foreign on your team (2v2 or 3v3) Or everyone is English and your server is somewhere like Texas (I am from England) We need a way to get MORE people on MM, maybe link it up to basecamp to change both things? Also, if I build an army of Jackals or Buckies I get an FPS drop, not just small one but a MASSIVE one. Normally like 60 fps down to 5-10 fps which really frustrates me. It slows down combat for everyone (It effects ((Normally)) Everyone in the server) And this is annoying. Is there a solution? And for the last problem, when someone has bad internet the WHOLE game lags (Links in with the server location problem) and the players never normally tend to leave, we either have to prompt them to leave or they just don't leave. Could this have a fix?

This is my overview of the game, still a very fun game with fast paced, (Most of the time) fun, action-packed gameplay which can lead to a lot of fun

My ratings of this game - 7/10

Hope my review was useful to you ;)
