This is a short, sweet and really charming Metroidvania! I've been digging into my backlog for shorter games to play since I'm now an adult with a full time job who can't just sink dozens of hours into a game anymore, and I'm really happy I chose to play this!

The game isn't difficult, but it did take me a few tries to beat some bosses and areas. Most of the secrets and upgrades are discoverable by yourself with a little bit time and sometimes trial and error with difficult jumps. It's just the right amount of challenge to make me feel like I'm making progress and achieving something without being a pushover. Each area in the game has it's own gimmick which keeps stuff fresh and nothing overstays it's welcome. I really like the dialogue as well! All the collectable cassettes are a nice touch, although I mostly stuck to the default one. White on pure black looks amaaaazing on the steam deck OLED.

Definitely recommend picking this up and I think it's more than worth it at full price. I hope one day we may even get a sequel. Good job dev :)

Took a little bit for me to get this game (mostly because I didn't know poker hands) but I'm a big fan of rogue-likes + my friend pushed me to try it and it is DANGEROUSLY good. Dangerous because it's really addicting and instead of doing work I wanna play it... ^^'

The gameplay is surprisingly deep and I'm still learning stuff (like how you can rearrange your hand before playing to get better scores from your jokers!)

Definitely one of my highlights of the year, 2024 has been amazing for indies. 100% worth it at full price, just beware it will take over your life!

would be perfect if miku sang for the "SEGA" logo at the start. due to this NOT being in the game though I have to unfortunately dock many points and give it a 0/10 :(

(jokes aside, really fun rhythm game! first one I've played. super cool being able to bop along to all my fav miku songs. definitely get if you're a vocaloid fan or just wanting to get into Miku!)

Bought for the cute girls, stayed for the fun gameplay :3 there's also a story if you play in single player! I didn't discover this for ages since I mostly play with friends lol

Word of advice though: AVOID THE FROG KINGDOM AT ALL COSTS.

Took me about 5 hours to beat and was well worth my time - this is a very special game. Please play it! Won't say much more than that to avoid any potential spoilers

My 11 hours of playtime are me leaving the game on overnight to get an achievement... ᓚᘏᗢ zzz

Update (30 July 2024): As of the most recent update the game now ignores Windows audio settings and blasted out my eardrums. Don't buy this, play https://pizz.uno/ instead.

Pretty hard to mess up Uno but Ubisoft manages! Uses Ubisoft Connect (which it forces you to install) instead of Steam for most online features, has a fair amount of bugs/issues that seem to relate to online connectivity (random disconnects, invites not working) and is just generally seem slow when trying to launch the game and get into a match. Also, cross-play between different platforms is non-existent. You're out of luck if you're trying to play Uno with your friend who only has the Switch or PlayStation version.

I'm still going to play this game, but I can't really leave a positive review due to the issues I mentioned above. When the game works it's fun but come on Ubisoft, its Uno. How did you mess up Uno?

The world/atmosphere of Control is extremely intriguing and mysterious, and I was hooked within my first 15 minutes of playing. The game as a whole feels very SCP-inspired. The Oldest House was a very interesting setting and I took my time exploring every nook and cranny throughout my play-through. The abilities you gain as you progress are fun to mess around with too.

Some critiques I have is that I encountered a few bugs (the most major of which required me to replay the mission at the end of the main story line) and the game can get a bit repetitive at times, but despite this it's still very much worth a play-through!
