This is a very mellow, yet challenging game. There are no guns, no angry aliens, no enemies to beat. Your only goal is to revive a barren, lifeless biome. If you want to just relax without dodging bullets or death rays, this is your game.

I like the story so far and the difficulty progression. It gets just hard enough to make it difficult but not impossible. The developer is extremely responsive in the discussion board, and he made the previous title himself as well, so I have total faith in this project completing without any serious issues. It's worth playing, and I can't wait for it to be finished.

I've enjoyed this game very much so far. The setting is just beautiful. The music is amazing. I like the skill progression mechanic where you feel like you're learning a skill. I'm not really that far into the story to see how that is, but it is engaging so far. I have no complaints about the game at all so far.

If you like Stardew Valley, you'll enjoy this game. I can't wait to see what comes next as this game develops.

It's a fun game with a 50s Scifi B-Movie vibe. The missions aren't so rough that it makes you crazy, and the voice acting is great. It's worth a buy. 10/10 would anal probe humans again. :D

This game is most definitely not for everyone. If you don't like your humor somewhat juvenile or will get offended easily because your wife's boyfriend has your testicles, then it's probably not for you. If you can get past the humor (which I relished at every turn,) then you'll find a good survival game that compares well to Subnautica. I like this game a bit more because the vistas are so wide and beautiful. The devs did a great job giving you a feeling of the vastness of space, from the views to the time expended schlepping from one part of a map to another. The finish was quite good. It took me about 35 hours to finish one playthrough, at which point you can then go explore the map and build a nice big base just for yourself for the hell of it. I've paid a lot more money for a lot less game that I enjoyed a whole lot less, so I recommend it.

Pros:
+Watching Mars change from a dead red planet to a lush green and blue world. Ocean creation is just awesome!
+Decent story
+Interesting tech tree
+Lots of Bots!
+Blue Mars DLC is a must if you want to do anything on the water but drown your bots.

Cons:
-Frame rates can tank to 20-30 FPS towards end game, even on a R9 3900X with 32 GB DDR4-3600 and a RX 6900 XT.
-Buildings limited to 1550, which can make spreading out on the planet challenging.
-Blue Mars DLC is a must if you want to do anything on the water but drown your bots.

All-in-all, recommended. I find I like this game more than Surviving Mars, as it doesn't need as much DLC as SM does to feel complete, and you have the whole planet to play with.

Early Access Review
As early access games go, this is a fairly well-done game.

Pros:
+Less stressful game due to lack of enemies to combat. It's just you versus the planet.
+Devs seem quite engaged. I'm on their email list, and they send out regular email updates, and there are regular software updates. They also do follow our message boards and respond to users.
+Nice visual style in my view. I like the delineation of different zones using color.
+It's not a hard science game that's totally unforgiving. Make no mistake, if you are unwary, the game will kill you, though it does make an effort to help you avoid it, but at least you'll respawn back at your base.
+Great new updates to the game as it continues to develop.

Cons: (I understand it's still early access, but I still need to mention a couple of these things.)
-It still needs optimization of some kind. As the game goes on, even my PC with a 3900X, 32GB DDR4-3600, a 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD and RX 6900XT will drop down to the 25FPS range during rain or meteor storms or if there is a lot of vegetation. I'm at @ 1Tti in my latest playthrough, and the best frame rates I get now are when I'm in my base, in the low 50s.
-There are still a number of places where you can glitch through objects, such as the cliffs over the freighter and by the sand falls.
-There are still a few places where materials are visible but cannot be mined, such as a Cobalt near the entrance to the Iridium cave.
-Once there are lakes and ponds and you have a water filter, you can't mine some materials if they are by the surface. It seems you have to be under water completely submerged next to them, but of course you can't get fully submerged by the shore line.
-The game can feel grindy. Mine materials, build stuff, build power plants, rinse and repeat. In fairness though, it is a terraforming game. If you were a terraformer, there would be a lot of grinding in terraforming a planet over a long time frame.
-In Early Access v04.008, there are still a number of things still to be implemented. This is only really a minus if the devs were to take the money and run as other devs have. I think in this case, it's just a FYI that things like more items to decode with microchips, insects, fish and such are still not yet in the game.

I enjoy playing this game quite a lot and recommend it, if for no other reason than the rewarding feeling of watching your base grow and your biome come alive with vegetation due to your efforts. This game shows a lot of promise, and I look forward to seeing what the devs are going to throw at us in the future!

UPDATE 11/24/2022: The game is still being updated, and it has improved quite a bit. You will still experience FPS slowdowns as your planet becomes more alive, but the team is still developing the game at this time. They are improving and optimizing the game, and they are adding new content. At this time, there are several new biomes and more of a story of the planet you're on. Definitely worth playing.

This game will be instantly a must get for any Factorio fan. I never played one of these factory/supply-chain-optimization games. It took a few hours for me to get into it, but now that I am, I'm addicted. Like seriously addicted. I hear the game music in my sleep and see new factory builds in my dreams. 10/10 would build more factories again.

Interesting game, requiring some skill in setting up task chains. It's unforgivably hard, but at least you reincarnate with improved skills after every death.
