It's a simple fun game where time slips away from you. This isn't one of those games where you play for a 1000 hours or even 100 hours. It is one where you might whirl it up from time to time to lose yourself for an hour of frogicide.

The game is pretty and fun, the combat not annoying and the story worth reading. However, the game is unsupported and unplayable on any computer made within the last 15 years, and will crash on startup. So yes, I would recommend this game if it wasn't completely unplayable.

I actually kickstartered this game. At the time I was obsessed with fighting animated videos and flash games, and the Project Nexus flash game was one of my favorites. I would spend hours fighting endless waves and I loved it. This game is better. The developers went to unity because flash games couldn't get big enough to encompass what they wanted to create, and it shows.
Having played the game through the closed alpha to the release, I can't tell you if the game is buggy or if it has glitches. I can't tell you specifics I disliked or loved, because I don't remember, and they patch the game often to fix things like that.
Its a battle box arena game, where you fight through hoards of enemies to get to the objective, and fight a boss, then complete the level. Some parts are annoying and hard to complete. But I really enjoyed this game and I come back to it despite having beaten it many times. I like the arena mode and the story behind it. It's a good story. They did a good job making their game.

It's simple and fun. I would recommend this game to anyone who wishes to play a game that you know you can walk away from and stop playing whenever you want, but never notice how long you play it.

This game comes with 2 game modes. The beautiful single player story, and the hacker/modder filled online that is nearly unplayable. I thoroughly enjoyed the single player aspect of this game. It has a beautiful world that sucks you in and keeps you playing for hours without noticing time. You could simply be hunting for hours and hours on end, or robbing people and stealing their stuff for money, or hunting down robbers, or maybe just the main story. The game has a lot to it and a lot you can do, but like all open world games it is glitchy at times. The glitches are more minor than not; I.E. your horse cannot find the road it is standing on so it decides to not come.
Red Dead online is a nasty overpriced playground where you need money and ranks to do anything. Yet if you play for any length of time (an hour or 2) you run into someone who is cheating by teleporting, flying, immune to damage, and has fun spawn-killing you. Or they just have explosive ammo that does no damage and rag-dolls you to death. They also enjoy destroying your missions that generate the said need money. I would not recommend RDO to anyone, unless they want to play with multiple people they personally know and goof off. That is fun and the only reason why I play Red Dead Online.

Also, if you own a console, I have also played this game on the PS4 and I will say as someone who is not a console player, this game is 30% better in every way on console. The game is more forgiving about mis-commands and much more willing to work with you.

There's a lot to it, and its been updated many many times, so the overwhelming amount of content may be off putting. It has some clunky mechanics like house building, and you Have to use the Terraria guide if you want to figure out how to do amazing, but It's a great game. 9/10. This game was made around the same time as minecraft, and while minecraft focused on grinding for materials, this game focused on combat. Everything seems to be geared towards defeating the next boss, and things can get annoying, but I think they did a great job.
