I played a few levels and had to stop. The style and music are sick and so unique, but the gameplay is not fun at all for me personally. Seems like it would be fun for speedrunners to replay levels and optimise fast playthroughs as the game revolves around a sonic-like dashing but its way too fast so you cant see or react to most obstacles on the first go. Sprinting into wall simulator.

Game starts strong, but expected better 2nd/3rd act. Done in an hour and was left unsatisfied. Great aesthetic, but felt hollow once things got started. Squandered potential.

At first glance of gameplay, the game looks like a very simple movement puzzle flash game, but when you actually play it you'll see otherwise. This game uses a very interesting formula that I've never seen before, where movement is based on circular motion. It's difficult to put in words, but basically wherever you move, your square will rotate so that it stays perpendicular to the circle in the centre of the screen. White represents space you can move in, black is impassable, and red kills you on contact. That is literally the entirety of the game mechanics explained, but somehow they use this formula so well, and it feels like every level is a new, clever, innovative use of this simple formula. With such a simple formula you'd be surprised how much engaging play time this game delivers.

Also important is the soundtrack. The soundtrack is what elevates this title from being a good game, to a phenomenal game. The soundtrack has fantastic chill and ambient vibes, and sublime crescendoes for the finales of levels that leave you both excited and awestruck.

I only recommend this game if you care about, or can appreciate, quality soundtracks. That being said, if you do, it's a great experience that I would say is worth the money despite the relatively short playtime.

DOOM is a model of how reboots/remakes should be done; take elements from the original and pay tribute to it, but also add to it, innovating it.
