The one of the best VR games ever made, and a strong contender for best Half Life game.

The best turn-based strategy game I've ever played. Mods give infinite replay value.

Don't listen to people whinging about the new launcher. There is a third party mod launcher that fixes the issues with mods, and is better than the original launcher ever was anyway.

How to take the worst of a survival game and MMORPG and put them into an unfinished, pixellated grindfest. It has survival elements without the fun of proper immersion or satisfying realism in a beautiful world to explore. It has MMORPG elements without the scale, social or character aspects. The result is that you're left feeling like you'd rather go play an actual survival game or MMO.

Given the reviews, I thought I would enjoy this game no matter what. I was shocked by how little enjoyment I got from it.

Most has already been said. Missing a save feature for the 'true rogue like', but means that you can't put it down and come back to it.

Also lacking a few features to make it better. Not being able to position yourself in a room wouldn't be a problem if it didn't affect anything, but it does.

Auto-attack combat is alright, but the game would be more entertaining without it.

Pros

Distant weapon sounds are kinda nice.
Gun play is somewhat solid (when it works).
Map is alright.
Battle royale idea is it's only merit (not event their idea).

Cons

Poorly optimised.
Lazily made hap-hazard amalgamation of pre-generated assets.
Network issues galore.
Loading issues when joining games.
Way too expensive for what it is.

Verdict

Spend your money elsewhere for now. The game feels/runs like an indie developer's experiment.

Cute and fun game, UI needs fixing a little. Currently feels very clunky; often you are trying to click through other things and end up hitting the wrong option. Lost everything from my 4 hour session because I could not click on the person I needed to get into the pilot seat, after having the wrong person selected in the first place.

Until that's fixed, I can't see myself risking it again. Otherwise, a great game.

Be warned, this is barely a 'game'.

While it may be an interesting and very vague story to listen to, with some mellow soundtrack playing as you meander along a 100% linear path, it's no more than that.

I made the mistake of getting this and expecting it to be something like Myst, to a degree. But all you do is walk, listen and see.

I cannot reccomend you buy this game, instead, look up a walkthrough on YouTube.

This is nothing like the Ace Combat games I remember. This game reminds me of a game you could get as an app. Sure, it's not the worst game out there, and you can put some time into it, but I suggest buying something else. There's no way I can put anything here that hasn't been said. Scroll down to see what my review would be.

Well, what can I say about this game? It's fun about 20% of the time. It's a good game at heart, but honestly, the developers are that lazy. The game has been out for a long time, and they cannot be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to fix it! "HELP LOOK AT ALL THESE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BUGS HELP US PLEASE" Their response: "Look guys, we added a new Logo and some Helmets". And then when they finally get around to the bugs, they FIX ONE TINY BUG, AND EVEN THEN IT MAKES ABOUT FIVE NEW ONES.

Rant over, it's a pretty fun game. Although it requires you to be pacient, you will not get good at it overnight. You will have to get beaten up by everyone else. And slowly, you will learn, you will get better and start becoming the person beating other people.

All in all, don't be fooled by the store page. It makes the game look so much better than it actually is.

Garry's Mod is probably the best game I have ever played. You can do pretty much anything you want, and then some. Multiplayer turns it into anything you want it to be: Zombie Survival, Roleplay, Space Build, TTT, etc. I have played it a lot. These hours are not including my further 1000 on two other computers. Best of all, it's a cheap game. Even if I had spent $60 on it, it would have been worth it. But 20, that's a good price and it goes on massive sales all the time. It's still enjoyable after all this time, and I've barely scratched the surface of all the gamemodes!

I reccomend you buy Counter Strike: Source with this game to prevent missing textures and models. Followed by that is the Half Life 2 series. But mainly C:SS. I do beleive you can buy them in a bundle for only $25.

Overall, Garry's Mod is probably one of the most unique, and replayable games I have ever played, and replayed again and again.
