I have never gotten this lucky with Steam recommendations before.
Not a furry? Neither am I. But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do furries know how to have fun.

Above and below the fur-tastic coat of paint is an incredibly well-executed, nostalgic art style, and the gameplay is everything great that my brain glorified those older games and MMOs to be.
It's like taking off rose-tinted glasses, only to find they were just frames, and that the world is just that rosey.

There has been an insane amount of passion, dedication, and attention to detail poured into this game.
There's little secrets everywhere, so many quality of life features, great accessibility options, and more settings you can control than the vast majority of indie titles.

My one and only critique is that sometimes fights can get a little muddy, and readability of a enemy attacks diminish due to an overwhelming amount of effects and entities... which can be mitigated by backing out of the action for a moment.

I can't speak to the games run-time, but I can say with certainty that $10 is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steal for this game.

Such a beautiful game with satisfying gameplay. My only critique is that I wish it was longer! Kudos to the team, and I hope there there will be a sequel or spin-off.

It's pretty rare that a replay or rewatch makes me cry a second time, but Eastward did just that. 10/10

If you're expecting the best top down action gameplay ever, you might be disappointed. It's good enough though, and the real treat is the beautiful and unique story. It pays homage to the greats while in the same stroke, taking jabs at them. It's weird, clever, funny, somber, and hopeful. It will take you on a wild ride that you won't soon forget.

My only real complaint is that the game is extremely easy until the difficulty ramps leagues higher very abruptly at the end. Without warning, it becomes Rhythm Heaven on Steroids. Otherwise, solid.

Pros: GAME. OF. THE. YEAR.
Cons: Buggy as all hell. They are common, they are persistent, and you will have to save, reload, and go back a save or two OFTEN.
If you're a natural save-scummer, you'll be fine. If you place trust solely in autosaves... Gods rest your lost soul (and your lost 3 hours of progress)

Maybe wait for the bugs to be ironed out, unless you have a strong will.

Casino Heist, scaled the building, stole a helicopter by dragging it to the getaway vehicle, got $90,000 for it.
Same casino, guard slipped on a banana.
We took him.
He was worth $6,000 more than the helicopter. (10/10 would kidnap again)

It may draw many similarities to Portal, but it's tone, dialogue, and scale are a stark contrast from Valve's puzzle game. The puzzle difficulty curve is basically a sheer incline cliff, once you learn all the mechanics you are in for some serious brain busters. ASTRA is a great companion character and I would protect her with my life. If you aren't necessarily looking for a Portal 3, but want something in a similar vain, I'd highly suggest giving this game a chance. I regard Portal 2 as a definitive masterpiece, but The Entropy Centre's ending hit me (personally) so much harder. It felt colossal and profound, without being grandiose or superficial. It wouldn't be fair to say it's *worse* than portal, because it did everything right. It's just different. Sure, some of the early puzzles could have been harder, but Portal's chambers were never really that hard. If you want more difficulty with time manipulation, go play Portal Reloaded. If you want to play a love letter to the portal franchise with fresh gameplay, and an amazing and surprisingly emotional story, then please give this game a try.

Ignore most of the negative reviews, they just want the game to fail. Gamers being gamers.
VHS is not for everyone, and you will have to learn. You will lose. Your previous game skills will not help you.
But once you learn the ins-and-outs, it is extremely gratifying.

The developers of Video Horror Society actually play their own game.
Find me a single negative review that actually makes sense and points to legitimate issues with the game.
Hellbent is a small indie company, so while you shouldn't expect a AAA game, the devs actually care about game health.

In a futile attempt to combat misinformation:

On release day, the game was technically playable.
Steam maintenance has made it impossible to connect to game servers using Easy Anti Cheat.
This issue happened last week as well.
