It does exactly what it says: you fly a truck in space. Kinda silly concept, but actually really enjoyable. The (optional) repair and maintenance mechanics are a nice addition. You actually have quite a few systems you need to manage, including buying spare parts in time and replacing them as their health depletes. They're all physical and you need to store them in your truck. Really cool.

The game does miss some QOL features like custom keybinds. That's the only gripe I have with it. Other than that it's well worth the money.

It's a good game that could have been a great game. It unfortunately falls short of its potential by focusing on too much stuff outside the core gameplay. As one might be able to tell, the main mechanic is essentially "Papers, Please" but in 3D. They did a phenomenal job with that.

However, this game also attempts to do more than that by incorporating FPS, open world, horde and detective game elements. In my opinion, neither of these are done convincingly and just distract from the main task of being a border patrol agent.

At least in story mode, these side components of the game are also non-optional. Meaning that you're forced to regularly venture off the base to complete mundane tasks (drop off prisoners, drop off contraband, buy ammo and supplies). When you leave the base you always drive the same routes and you're always ambushed at least once. It get's very repetitive after the first few times. To be fair: you do get the option to pay to skip some of these tasks once you level up enough, but the price to skip is pretty steep.

Then there are also non-optional missions outside of the base, where you have to investigate a murder, free a hostage or find a missing person. I actually dreaded doing these missions. They weren't enjoyable to me at all and I always rolled my eyes whenever the phone in the base rings and the stupid dispatcher forces me to stop doing my job as a border patrol agent in order to go play detective/swat/beat cop.

I've only tried story mode so far, there's also a freeplay mode. I hope that that mode forces you outside less.

To summarize: if you like "Papers, Please", you're most likely going to enjoy this game. If FPS and fetch quests aren't your cup of tea, it may spoil your experience a little. For the discounted price of 18€ I would however still recommend this game.

FH4 players beware!!!

You will not be able to import your vinyl groups and liveries from FH4, if you buy FH5 on Steam!

I seriously recommend you buy it on the Microsoft Store, if you're planning to re-use any content you created on FH4!

This game is for you if:

- you are interested in military aviation.
- you have or are willing to buy a HOTAS.
- you have the time and patience to watch tutorials, read manuals and do a lot of training.

This game is NOT for you if:

- you have little patience.
- you are looking for a casual game to play.
- you do not like learning and getting down to the nitty gritty.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bits of info:

- the game comes with two *very basic* free aircraft. Full fidelity aircraft can be found in the DLCs and you will need at least one at some point.

- You will need a decent PC to run this, especially in multiplayer and/or VR.

Easily the best co-op exploration/horde game out there. Must have.

Must have for Hamburg Day&Night and HafenCity! Great price for fantastic busses that work really really REALLY well with the Hamburg maps. I haven't tried other maps yet.

However there's two things I dislike:
-> The manual isn't as detailed as the 3-gen manual. Considering how this addon bases on the 3-gen addon, this really strikes me as odd.

-> for the 3 door Citaro and Citaro G a VHH repaint or maybe even only a white matrix option (like in 3-gen) would be nice. I'm a total noob at omsi modding, so I have no idea how to do the latter myself. I've checked into the osc files, and Darius seems to have removed the white matrix option, thats present in the 3-gen files. A shame really.

I purchased this game in the hopes of a fun simulator in combination with some management aspects... Sadly it does not deliver on the first. Busses drive weird with my G25, its impossible to see at night, the AI is terrible and the game is poorly optimized (It lags when I honk, for god's sake!)

Guess I'll be refunding this one and purchasing OMSI 2 instead. While that game has no management components, it at least delivers on a realistic and fun simulator.

Stormworks is a sandbox game which allows you to create pretty much anything you can imagine. You're operating a coast guard like service on the cold and rough sea. Between windfarms, oil rigs and remote islands your task is to complete various missions. At the time of this posts, that's usually either transporting or rescuing personell, collecting and dropping off freight, aswell as towing ships and extinguishing fires.

You can build any kind of vehicle imaginable and use that to complete the task. With it's quite advanced logic system (like redstone in Minecraft, but much better!) you can very easily set up any kind of electric or mechanical system you can imagine. From cranes, to sliding doors, to GPS autopilots and gyroscopes, you name it!

At the time of me writing this, there are only a limited number of missions, however there's a mission creator/editor, an evergrowing steam workshop and weekly updates, adding new parts and contents.

The most challenging aspect about the game is the dynamic weather and time. You can set off on a rescue mission with your newly built vessel in bright sunshine and nice weather, and quickly find yourself in complete darkness of the night, with strong gusts, fog and meter high waves. Nonetheless the gameplay is very captivating and fun. You should however bring alot of time, because building vehicles is absolutely captivating. I found myself spending hours building, tweaking and adapting my vessels, always finding something more to add. It's addictive fun.

If I can predict anything for Stormworks, it's a very bright future and at this price, I can really recommend it to anyone, that likes purposeful sandboxes.
