Not sure i rank some parts of it as high as the original, but mizuki as an agent is awesome and the game was still a blast! <3

Doing our part.

Good on Arrowhead for actually going to bat against Sony, and good on the community for not putting up with it.

Still think way too much hate was directed at devs who didn't want the change any more than we did, though.

An amazing experience reminiscent of point and click adventure stuff.

Story is really a framework for a fusion of absurd lovecraftian horror mixed alongside Japanese urban legend and folklore , the visual style and psychological angles to the horror are just wonderful and a great change from the jumpscares and more western horror you see far more often.

Can't recommend it enough <3

This is a game I desperately want to enjoy, but it still feels like a shell of a game in a lot of ways.

Crashes and the like aside entirely, the content just feels.. Lacking? Compared to vermintide 2.
And I don't mean compared to vermintide's current content multiple expansions later; I mean it launched without subclasses, with a relatively small variety of weapons for how most of them are shared.

And mostly, so many decisions that are baffling and make it feel like Fatshark hasn't held onto anything they learned over the development of Vermintide 2. So many baffling mistakes.

Veteran feels like the company's favorite class by a mile; Psyker feels like an afterthought that had its entire identity tied to a single ability that doesn't scale in any way and becomes actual hell as it goes on.

The fact that toughness isn't just a flat shield makes things like the Zealot's low health build actually painful to play, and it also feels like a needless change they added late given the tutorial on launch still told you it was a shield entirely, not a shield purely against ranged.

Beyond that, the crafting is still in a mess of a state, and the weapon grind is so much worse than vermintide ever was at the removal of decent rewards for any given mission, and addition of stats themself being totally random; when your ability to get more is still effectively limited by a store refresh rather than simply being able to run missions for another new box of items. On top of that, no shared inventory when a bulk of the weapons are shared?
And the items are already level locked, so it wouldn't even let you powerlevel your class overly quick.

At every turn this game feels like it's made misstep after misstep, like every lesson learned from Vermintide 2 was thrown out the window, and many embarrassing public statements from the FOMO rotating cash shop being added (when it shouldn't even exist) because "Having them all available ot buy would be too complicated for players :(", or how it'd be too hard to add any way to earn even small amounts of premium currency in the game.

I desperately want thids to be good, and at this point am just hoping to check back in a year and see it's brought up to something even approaching the vermintide games in terms of being player friendly and actually a nice experience, because the moment to moment gameplay can be a lot of fun; just so many baffling decisions piled one ontop another form a whole that feels like it isn't rewarding to play, and grinding out weapons becomes more of a timelocked pain through multiple layers of rng.

As of editing this, they've made some nice steps towards actually making it far more pleasant to play and they're making good on their roadmap, tentatively changing the recommendation finally.

Original review below:
Taking the time to talk down to the players for valid criticism of an increasingly non player friendly economy.
Now taking the time to scrub still-applicable negative reviews because the single change they were making was undone; when in reality most of the complaints were pointing out the increasingly player-unfriendly economy where playing the game has become less rewarding with every economy tweak over the last few years.

I was playing this game 8 years ago, and the SL gains were far better. You made much more overall contrary to what their public statements say, and you wouldn't lose money on a match where you did well. You even could make good money just getting hits in and being active in the fight without resorting to kill steals, imagine that!

Over the last few years they've clamped down on the rewards in almost every aspect. Even a few years back, you'd commonly get 200% boosters from daily logins; haven't seen one of those in weeks here, and they certainly aren't as common as they were.

This is shown well in a recent post someone shared where despite having 11 kills in a game, they only made 2,654 RP and 26K SL. For a wildly successful game with 0 deaths and 11 kills, they made not even enough to crew an already purchased tank, and hardly 1 10th of the needed research for a single low tier tank.

These are the kinds of things that the community is upset about, not purely the now rolled-back economy change. It's the steady devaluing of the player's time and increasing time requirements for every single unlock. At high tiers, you can lose silver lions overall even in a game where you go even or positive KD. Even with a premium account/subscription, you can lose SL overall for a game where you had more kills than deaths. Let that sink in, a game where you eliminate more enemies than you get killed by ends up with an overall negative amount of money.

This was happening to me in lower tiers even with some planes and nations; and they've recently even let it slip on the forums that it's by design that non premium vehicles average out to be an SL drain over time on a player.

This is ontop of the publishers actions of discouraging negative steam reviews, marking all the economy complaints as off topic when they were about the trend over the last few years rather than purely the most recent update, and actions like censoring every negative opinion posted through their official forums.

Wonderful game, scum of a company in terms of how bands are handled.

Oversensitive anticheat that's had known problems and false positives on more than one occassion, but they'll ban your account and everyone from the same IP, refuse to even look into it, and at times give conflicting information on what even caused it if they do share anything.

Story pops up repeatedly in the reviews, don't be lulled into thinking you're safe.
False positives are very real and enough to leave a ban mark on your steam profile without any form of review or concrete info what happened.

This game is rough but a masterpiece all the same.

Levels are fun, the game is packed to the brim with secrets, options for sequency breaking and movement tech that takes practice. Sure, it's clunky compared to others, but the movement and weapons feel immensely satisfying as you get the hang of them, and parrying a boss for a quick kill is one of the best feelings ever.

Highly recommend it!

Fought my way down the dungeon, picked up a wand, the fireball instantly incinerated me.
10/10.
Would noita again.

More seriously, I adore this game. All this nostalgia for early 2000s falling sand games and powder toy-type games.
(Shoutout for old fallingsandgame forums!)
It's wild, weird, and combines the insanity of the sandgame simulation with the insanity of spells and procedural generation.
Secrets so obscure sanity doesn't exist, and difficulty that borders the Kaizo moreso than darksouls.
It feels like a love letter to a mix of dungeon crawling, 2d PC games and so much more.

Highly, highly recommend if you don't mind an unforgiving game!

Fun time, especially for the moment when there's no p2w. YET. There will be.
Few hundred hour vet of the old EN servers before they were shutdown.

Yes all the comments of it being clunky are right, yes it almost certainly will turn into the pay to win headache it used to be before the killed the servers.
This game had an EN server that was shutdown before this universal one, and a JP server. Don't know about JP, but the EN was averaging ~30 players on a high day and more like 14 when they killed the old EN servers, not particularly surprised it was killed.

I think it's worth it, at least for the moment, just to hop in and experience this bizzare mishmash of good and bad ideas that makes for a fun enough time, not saying it's fantastic and definitely cynical about it staying fun for long, feels clunky and awkward, yet there's something to be said about the offered customization.

Fun time, worth a free try just don't get invested. Especially financially.
