I have barely scratched the surface.... but I must paint map.

I have a job and only play 1-2 games at a time, so the sub fee for all the dlc is actually nice. It takes nothing away from normally buying them on sale, but for an older game like this with too much to buy... it just works.

I hate the paradox model but this makes it at least palatable.

CANNOT RECOMMEND UNTIL NIGHT MAPS ARE GONE.

I love this game, but it definitely still Beta. If you are aware of this, and love Battlefield (what it used to be) you need this game immediately.

Pros:
Gunplay is CRISP
Game runs smooth on a toaster
254 Players a game, rushes for points feel like a real battle going on
Vehicles are STRONG as they should be, but they give out a ton of RPGs per launcher so it isn't hard to deal with if focused on.

Cons:
Rare crashes
Queuing can take forever, use the server browser
Too few vehicles IMO. 1-2 Tanks a team and 1-2 helis, MAYBE an APC or two. With 254 people this makes it rare to drive one in a match, rare even to see them. Saddens me a lot and lowers my score by a hard 2 points.

Plays amazing, runs amazing, but is still beta and has so few vehicles it feels like there are none some games. Double or triple the amount on Conquest.

Different game from launch.

Now is the time to get the game if you waited for the Devs to fix it, for the most part.

Plays really well, runs smooth on my GTX 1080, and I got that battlefield feeling from it.

It has surpassed V as the best Civ in the franchise currently, in my opinion. And I love V.

I just wish owning all the DLC didn't cost me so much over the years, but it is what it is and this game feels like it has everything I want.

I can't wait to see what they can come up with in VII.

Every feature I thought I hated when going into 6 from 5 has grown on me and also been developed by the devs quite a bit. I enjoy going faith in this one, I hate it in V. Domination isn't a clickfest finally.

GET THE BUILDER AUTOMATION MOD, waiting for devs to add this to base game lol

Combat is a slog. Mechanics are poorly explained. Even when you finally get used to the game, it still feels hollow. Difficulty levels just make enemy units straight stronger than yours, the AI is still braindead.

To give an example, you have 3 armies standing next to each other. One gets attacked, only that army enters the battle no reinforcements. Ok I guess, but GUESS WHAT?! The enemy army gets their reinforcements even though their second army is 4 tiles away from the battle. WHO THE HELL CODED THIS GAME?

As is, I wish I could get a refund and wait 2 years for a decent game to rise from these ashes of a release.

cant recommend because of Steam. I didn't realize it would constantly show FPS Monitor as now playing instead of my games, it is really annoying.

If you have played any MMO and enjoyed it, you will like FFXIV. I am not kidding. It has something for everyone.

Advice, though. Avoid this games subreddit like the plague. It is horrible, and will demoralize you to ever continue playing the game, they are the worst type of mmoer there. Your choice, just a heads up. It's bad.

I came in hating story-driven games. I skip every cutscene because this entire story is lame to me. With that said, I still adore this game so far. The mini-raid boss mechanic called Fates is my favorite. Nothing like stopping my quest real quick to fight a boss with a dozen other people my level for aight XP. I also really like the fishing, lol.

I am level 20 as of this review, I will come back and update it later.

Just hit level 50. I still agree with everything I said previously. The only thing I hate is the 2.5s Global Cooldown on spells, especially as a black mage.... but you do get used to it. Hate is a strong word, dislike is closer to how I feel about GCD.

Fates are still amazing, and one of my favorite parts. They just give so much xp for the time put in.

The 46-49 hump needs a lot of work, but dungeons give half your xp bar or more in XP even at level 50, so to call it a grind is a stretch, but it is a stark difference from the blazing fast leveling from story quests. For those who don't know there is a gap of quests after level 46, you need to get to 49 to continue. I recommend just do the level 44 and 47 dungeons twice each and bam your 49 or 50 and past the hump.

I started dreaming about combo interactions as I just started Samurai. That is how engrossing this game is.

I adore it, and I think I have put in enough time to safely say I am here to stay. You won me over, community.

Oh forgot to add, there are also a ton of people willing to help. The whole Sprout/Mentor thing was a stroke of genius and tells you exactly who to go to for aid. Google the icons for Mentors so you know what to look for. Trust me.


EDIT 2: 114 HOURS IN BOYS. Still goin strong, I am lvl 58, the story xp slows down considerably compared to the beginning, but the dungeons are just as cool and nothing seems monotonous. I am so looking forward to 60 for Ishgard Restoration and my poetic gear. THIS GAME IS LIKE CRACK IT CONSUMES ME


Edit 3. Hit 80 on two combat jobs, 60 on all the crafters and finished 2 80 relics. Been fun, but reddit has killed my drive to continue playing. Those trashcans really know how to ruin a good time. Think I will do solo content to try and invigorate my drive again. Idk why I go to Reddit man, need to delete that ♥♥♥♥.

So much yes.

Fixed most of my issues with the series. Now we get events to spice it up, artifacts to use, hyperlanes to build.

The map being larger is my favorite part, I know some people don't like it. Personally I always found vanilla GalCiv to be too clustered together. Space isn't like that. Now the map feels like space, and is harder and easier to defend. Harder because more places to defend, easier due to hypergates and longer range to see fleets coming.

All in all its worth every penny.

Finally feels like a complete fixed game with the opt-in patch.

The numbers ACTUALLY MEAN SOMETHING NOW.

I have a lot of fun with this game, if you like Stellaris and the like you will enjoy this game. You won't spend as many hours in it as that'n, but it is WELL worth the entry price.
