This is one of those games that I have played, but would never recommend to anyone. It's just a blatant cash grab with mechanics intentionally designed to try and drain money from you. Very grubby. Do not even try.

Definitely worth subscribing. Most of the negative reviews here seem to just be from people who can't figure out how to cancel the subscription, that's Steam's fault, not ESOs.

You can take any shooter on planet Earth from the past 20 years, compare it to this and the gameplay will be 10x better on that game. This is actual crap. I am actually baffled, amazed even that it's popular on Steam at all. The graphics are horrible, there's no real aiming down sights.. there's tons of cheaters everywhere. You just stand still and try to tighten your cursor to aim, the simplest and most retarded mechanic. This is genuinely 100% the absolute worst shooter I have ever played in my entire life, and I have played many. The fact that this is popular just shows you that humanity has went full ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Thank god this game didn't cost anything because even with it being free I feel like I was robbed.

Necrom definitely has a good story like all of the ESO expansions. For $30 the amount of content you are getting is definitely better value than other games. The Arcanist class has been very good too. This xpac frequently goes on sale so I would grab it when it is discounted for even better value.

Microtransactions Dogma 2, Dark Greed Arisen

I was 9 minutes away from missing my refund window. When I first started the game it seemed pretty decent, I had some fun.. after the intro mission I got a popup telling me to BUY RIFT CRYSTALS ONLY $0.99.. I was like wtf, closed it out and kept playing. I was having a fair bit of fun when I saw the second and third popups trying to sell me things, I decided to log off and do more research.. Found out they sell the ability to fast travel, they sell the ABILITY TO SAVE YOUR GAME (it's a camp kit that's required to save your game)! They sell the ability to hire pawns, you even have to pay to be able to change your characters appearance. It's honestly insulting to your customers who just paid $70 for this game to try and take more money from them, it's unacceptable and I can't support this kind of developer even if I found the game to be relatively fun. None of us should be rewarding this kind of behavior. Make sure that they hear us and we never allow this to happen again. I have genuinely never been this disappointed with any other game in my entire life.

"BUT YOU CAN GRIND MOST OF THESE ITEMS IN GAME" it doesn't matter, it's the principle. The game was quite obviously designed to make things inconvenient/grindy for you if you don't pay, which is insulting to the customers who have paid full price. MTX should not be in a single player game. Use your brain, if mtx was "meaningless" they would not have spent so much time and effort to implement this system and conceal it from all reviewers up until release day. The reason that they added mtx to this game is because they KNEW idiot fanboys would go out shilling for microtransactions, knowing that they can go further and further next time.

If you are shilling for these microtransactions, please go and play Baldurs Gate 3 or Cyberpunk 2077. THAT is how a great game is made, not this garbage.

First impression: 100GB download? That seems pretty large for a simple battle royale. Ok np. Downloads 100GB file. Log in to unskippable cutscene, wait 5 minutes for cutscene to end. Restart required.. restart, another unskippable cutscene. Battle pass flashes on screen with no way to dismiss it, have to wait 5 seconds to click away each menu. Finally get through to the main menu. Try to play now? Another 100gb required. Uninstalled.

Phantom Liberty is genuinely a "benchmark" for DLCs, almost like an entirely new game in itself. The story is even more incredible than the base game (and that's a high bar). It does a great job of integrating itself within the main storyline, so there's no "addon" or breaking apart effect. In fact it enhances the base game in many ways, remembering things you've done etc. At $30 it's an EASY 100% recommend. Phantom Liberty even as a standalone DLC would be better than most other modern RPGs. Choices matter and the combat is great. If you can get it on sale, it would be a waste not to buy it tbh.

I purchased this DLC to support the developers. I am amazed at how incredible BG3 is along with being ethical and not making the game a microtransaction flood like every other game. We must support Larian so they can stay in the spotlight, they deserve the success.

One of the best games I have played in a long time. Immersive beautiful world with amazing graphics. The story is amazing, with tragedy and thrill, intensity and weight. This is an INCREDIBLE GAME. Playing it through for the first time gave me a wonder I haven't received from any other game in a long time.

I'd highly recommend this game to anyone that doesn't mind strategy/turn based combat. Also for those who love a good storyline with consequential decisions and I mean seriously consequential like changes everything decisions. 10/10, and I never say that about any game. I liked Elden Ring but I didn't think it necessarily deserved the 10/10 critic reviews it got, 8-9/10 at best.. Baldur's Gate 3 is a 10/10 game.

This is my first "Souls-like" game. After playing it for a while and basically hitting a stone wall everywhere I've decided to leave this review. I don't understand why this game is rated so highly, I guess fanboys of the Dark Souls Genre might like it, but compared to any other RPG it's not that great. It has overly punishing mechanics like resetting your progress everytime you die, and respawning EVERY enemy in the entire game world everytime you rest at a campfire (because there's no health regeneration).. and that's not an exaggeration, it actually does respawn every enemy except unique/named bosses everytime you rest. To me it makes no logical sense, there's no getting anywhere in a reasonable amount of time because everytime you need to rest up you're resetting every enemy in the entire game world. The gameplay is pretty polished and fluid, everything else just feels lazy and purpose built to literally waste as much of your time as possible.

EDIT: I do stand behind my original comments that the respawning of enemies with every rest/levelup/fast travel/etc is an unnecessary and annoying mechanic. However after putting some more time into the game and getting further, I have found it to be less detrimental than when I first started. It's still irritating, but less detrimental. After progressing a little further I've decided to change my recommendation.

The boss fights are incredibly fun and challenging, which is what I was looking for when I first purchased Elden Ring. Defeating a boss is insanely satisfying and like I mentioned before the combat itself is obviously very well refined and it will be hard to find an RPG with better combat variety. I would recommend this game ONLY for people who want a very difficult challenge and are willing to take extreme punishments/setbacks which are not present in other RPGs. Perhaps veterans of the genre who haven't found anything else to be difficult. Also $60 is quite steep, though I did pay full price if you're more patient than me I'd definitely get it on sale. That way you feel less bad when you're angry from losing XP/progress and ragelog.
