This is the best game I have played in ages. Not only is the original boardgame (Calico) a gem, this game goes above and beyond a boardgame port. Flatout's original boardgame is a cute, puzzly, tile-drafting game with a great theme. Monster Couch took that and then said, "But what about a story mode?" And then they turned it up to 11. You, a young tailor, set off to make your fortune in the city of Tomkitty, hoping to find your father, whom mysteriously disappeared years ago, leaving only a few needles and thread. These people worship cats and also there's a war going on? Who knows. With some nice LGBTQ representation and some pro-worker/anti-factory messages, this game manages to have both a good message and be ridiculously cozy. Also, there's an adorable cat editor so you can put your own kitties in as bonus point cats!
