I am only basing this on many hours in Alpha + a few hours in the 1.0 release.

Larian Studios is one of those magic game studios that - further than mastering an existing genre of game, like, in this case, top-down, turn-based RPGs - understands that giving players the freedom to break boundaries and exceed the genres classic game play, *enhances* rather than breaks the game's value.

Baldur's Gate 3 is a masterful toybox - you feel empowered to do anything, go anywhere. There aren't many games like this.

Outer Wilds is an amazing experience, quite unlike anything else I've played. It has some of the same sense of mystery and exploration as "The Forgotten City" - another great game - but Outer Wilds is thoroughly unique and compelling.

I urge anyone with a PC to not read too much about the Outer Wilds - just buy, download and play the gane. You won't regret it.
