Early Access Review
Touhou Luna Nights is a Touhou-themed Metroidvania game from the team behind games like Pharaoh Rebirth, SMT: Synchronicity, and Konosuba: The Resurrection of Beldia. You play as our intrepid maid, Sakuya, who is engaging in a msyterious test at the request of her charismatic, vampiric master, Remilia. At the time of writing, the game is in Early Access and is available pretty much as a 30 minute demo. But it is extremely promising, and I had a lot of fun playing it.

The game's art is fantastic sprite work, the music is great, and the gameplay is fun and engaging. The demo makes use of Sakuya's manipulation of time in order to present puzzles and obstacles to the player. The controls are smooth, the gameplay is quick and responsive, and the demo boss fight is intense and fun. There are a few oversights like limited menu options and a few grammatical errors in the text, but it is still early in development, so these things are to be expected.

I very much look forward to seeing where the development of this game goes, as I have enjoyed previous games by this team, and I also enjoyed the famous doujin game Komajou Densetsu 2. As for the demo, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I can only hope the main game is just as fun!

I loved this game, I really did. But after 2.0 I can't recommend it anymore. They took away what made the game unique to me and removed customization and the ability to choose what you wanted to do with your favorite characters. I played this because it was NOT a class-based shooter with restrictions. I feel it's even more unbalanced now and skills pop off every two seconds instead of it being a fairly vanilla tactical twitch shooter for the most part. The gun rabalancing is wonky, the new operatives are unbalanced, and the netcode is still bad.

I had a great time with this game but what I really loved about it is gone.

One of the most fun games I've ever played. It took me a long time to try it out, but it is absolutely worth a play for anyone who enjoys exploration and puzzle solving. Not as cryptic as its reputation lends it to be, but still requires quite a bit of thought to solve the puzzles.

Take notes and challenge the ruins!

As with The Legend of Dark Witch 1, this plays like a mix between Gradius and classic Mega Man. Collect experience from defeating enemies and redeem them to power up your player character, to make them faster and stronger. This game was released on the Nintendo 3DS eshop and, like the first game, has been reworked for a PC release. I worked on the beta release of the game.

I enjoyed this game very much on the 3DS and I am very glad it made its way to Steam much like the first game. Dark Witch 2 is a huge improvement over the first game in many ways, feautring more customization, more stages, more bosses, and more playable characters, including the Steam-exclusive Riva. There are shops to buy items to help you in stages or increase your power. There is much, much more content than the first game.

Among the best changes to the gameplay are customizeable upgrade slots and a new "ammunition" bar for using your boss skills, so your experience is not depleted when you want to use boss weapons. This is a very welcomed change for those who became frustrated with the ammo system in the first game. Additionally, collecting 4 crystals per stage allows for the player to choose which attributes they want to upgrade, as opposed to getting very specific ones.

The sprite work is fluid and cute, and the music is fantastic.

I have put lots of time into this game on the 3DS version. If you enjoyed the first Legend of Dark Witch game, I very highly recommend this one.

I played this game on the 3DS and enjoyed it very much! The gameplay is like a mix between a MegaMan style action platforming with Gradius-like upgrades to make you more powerful. These features work well together, and provide a very nice gameplay experience. It has great music, cute characters, fun gameplay, and has a rewarding level of challenge, especially for the bosses. The HD upgrades for the Steam release are awesome; the game looks great! You can also save ghost data of your playthrough, which is very useful for speedrunning. The developer is very passionate about this game and loves talking with fans and players in order to provide a good experience, although english is not his first language. It has already included patches based on feedback from fans (including Xbox 360 controller support).

I have put a ton of playtime into this game, and it is a great value for its price. I highly recommend checking it out if you are a fan of action platformers!
