Convoluted and overly complicated puzzles that lack purpose. A game-breaking bug in one puzzle prevented further progress, and it's unlikely to ever be fixed. Frustrating and unplayable. Avoid.

"Deadly Night" is a horror video game that embodies the classic slasher film genre with its storyline revolving around a final girl archetype facing off against a relentless killer.

The gameplay is adequate, featuring mechanics typical of the horror genre. However, the second level, set in a two-story house with a basement, presents significant challenges that prove frustrating for both the player and the overall experience:

a) Laborious Exploration: Navigating the house demands thorough exploration of every room and corner, which can feel unnatural and detract from immersion, exacerbated by the fact that the house itself is also uninteresting to explore.

b) Persistent Threat: Throughout the exploration, players must evade or hide from the killer, heightening tension but also contributing to frustration as it interrupts progress and exploration.

c) Limited Saving: The game restricts saving to only three opportunities, all within the same safe room. While intended to increase tension and encourage careful gameplay, this limitation can feel punitive, particularly given the demanding nature of the second level.

Levels one and three offer quick gameplay experiences, each under 15 minutes. In contrast, the second level's design stretches the game unnecessarily due to these issues. What might otherwise be a concise 25-minute experience extends due to gameplay mechanics that artificially prolong rather than enhance the player's experience.

In summary, "Deadly Night" delivers a serviceable horror narrative reminiscent of slasher films. While the gameplay mechanics generally function well, the second level's design flaws detract significantly from the overall enjoyment. Players looking for a brief yet intense horror experience may find their engagement tested by the game's stressful second act.

Disappoints on multiple fronts. The cringey, nonsensical story feels like a step back from the developer's previous successes, particularly 'Summer of 58'. Father's Day shamelessly borrows one of the worst levels from "Find Yourself", offering little innovation. Gameplay is painfully simple and bland, while the English localization leaves much to be desired. Cheap jump scares and heavily scripted sequences further diminish any potential suspense. Overall, it fails to live up to expectations set by the developer's earlier work.
Oh, and what's with the mannequin obsession?
