game good

This game is a masterpiece. The game is actually scary, the monsters are unsettling and the boss fights leave you wanting an explanation for what they represent and their importance. The game isn't all sad, however, as there are times of triumph, calmness, and quietness. There's a time where the game lets you vent your anger on monsters that have previously given you a bit of trouble (in the form of the final area).
The game teaches you to conserve ammo, especially for the Remington 870 and M16, with rare ammunition making you improve your aim and miss your shots as little as possible.
The graphics themselves are actually great, considering they used GoldSrc. It genuinely seems like they pushed all the limits of the engine, and that's great.
The level design is also very nice, being linear enough so you know where you're going but not open enough so you keep going the wrong way. The levels aren't the most cohesive, however, and they seem to be set in very odd locations (the very beginning of the game and the maintenance tunnels being a few examples) but that doesn't take away from the experience.
The monsters you fight are unsettling and can be tough in some scenarios. Some of them can't even be killed very easily at all (tallers, sawrunner and sawcrazys), while others can be killed fairly easy most of the time.
I give this game 10/10, it's definitely my favorite horror game. This game will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you, Team Psykskallar.
