Both Mining Mechs & Super Mining Mechs are 2 very, very generously priced games that offer a manifold of hours of gameplay so I definitely feel it is right for me personally to buy this DLC as an extended display of support when I personally am comfortably able to do so.

Super Mining Mechs is a worthy sequel to the first Mining Mechs. As with the first one it is a mining game within the genre I like to call Motherload-like, and it is yet another 'must play' if you're a fan of these mining games.

The core changes in this game is that mines have fundamentally changed, voice acting and a lot more dialogue and story has been added, missions have had a big revamp, you travel to other planets with several different locations on each planet, amongst several other things.
And just over-all it feels like a greatly polished, expanded and improved upon Mining Mechs experience.

If you liked the first Mining Mechs you will like this one as well, while it's easy to say "It's the same game but better", I'm trying to refrain from that because while yes it is the same premise, same genre, same atmosphere and so on, it is improved upon a lot, it has taken the core of the first game and improved upon it heavily. Several systems & features have been changed, improved and/or added, the game is a lot bigger, I love that voice acting is added & character customization is great.

Currently I'm very excited to see how this game evolves, I know plenty of updates are planned and I'm most excited about what Prestiging will be, I'm hoping it is this games answer to New Game+.
I hope future updates gives this game much more re-play ability like what the New Game+ update did with the first Mining Mechs because as it currently stands Super Mining Mechs is only good for 1 100% play-through for me personally, keep in mind though that the game is very, very generously priced and you get many hours out if it, totally worth it.

I wish the perk upgrades had more to them than some very slight percentage increases in certain stats, and each perk only being upgradable 3 times. I think Prestige, which is coming in a future update, will do something with that though.

I've primarily played the game with a controller and I must say it is not without its flaws.
Movement and mining is great and I had no major issues with that, the problems arise when in menus. It feels very clunky and I did run into several bugs making it impossible to select certain things under certain conditions forcing you to use a mouse to continue.
There are plenty of games that are similar to this one in terms of menuing and they do not struggle this much with making the game feel natural, easy and smooth to use with a controller.
A lot of your time spent in this game is mining, as one might expect, but you do relatively often have to enter several different menus and do stuff, it's not often more than 10 minutes go by without you performing several actions in several different menus when talking with NPCs and, yes, as I said it is clunky and not optimal, it can get frustrating at times.

Update #1 in the Roadmap on the Discord server for the game lists 'Improved controller support' as something that is coming.
I will update this review if controller support gets better and if/when any other noteworthy improvements, changes or additional content comes.

As a mining-game fanatic I'm really excited for another entry into this series and I am so happy for the developer that they found some success with these games.
It may sound a little over-the-top but it is my favourite type of games, I have a bit of an obsession, and I'm just so glad that this genre of games is getting some love and that a developer like Delayed Victory came along and have now released 2 top-notch games in the category.

It is wonderful how the developer is so engaged with the community on the Discord server, open to all types of feedback, criticism & suggestions, playing with people on the Discord and chatting and discussing about things.
It's cool to see a little community building around this game/developer and people interested in testing, and just generally chatting and spitballing ideas & thoughts.

While lurking on the server I've seen interesting discussions take place and on multiple occasions seen bugs get fixed in real-time from someone reporting a bug to the developer fixing it in just an hour or less, I've seen great ideas suggested, get picked up, and implemented in real time as well. It's just really cool and refreshing to see such an engaged developer, a person you can actually talk to and discuss with.

In an attempt to not yap on much more as they say these days: It is a worthy sequel, it's the good old Mining Mechs we all know and love but with improvements & polish, some changed systems, and of course a lot of new content, etc.
Do you like mining games? You will like this. Do you miss Motherload? You will love this.

Feel free to also give my review of the first game a read if you haven't checked out that game.

The game completely and utterly fails at creating an atmosphere, vibe, mood, feeling or anything else that would suggest it is literally the end of the world. You hear people talk about it, you see some of it, but still it is utterly unconvincing.

The voice acting is horrifically bad and equally unconvincing as everything else, and so is the writing...
The writing is cringe and unnatural, people don't talk like that. The voice actors are entirely disconnected from the situation, they take so.... damn.... LONG to say a short sentence.
There are awkward pauses constantly, it's just weird and off-putting. You can't skip or fast-forward any dialogue. The protagonist talks as if he was told that this was a satirical play, but it's not, so why does he talk like that?

The entire game kind of went out of sync for me nearing the end of my 22 minute nightmare, I could pick choices of what to say next and talk over other characters and myself because the dialogue wasn't actually finished, that was slightly amusing, then I ALT+F4'd.

In conclusion the game is thoroughly unconvincing, the writing is bad, the voice acting & direction is awful and it is dreadfully slow & boring. I advice you to not waste your time. Play this only if you'd like to test your own patience for whatever reason.

As the main game is not released just yet I've only played the beta demo and now this public demo and I am obviously comparing this game in my mind to the first Mining Mechs game.
I really like what I've seen so far, again obviously keeping in mind that this is a demo.

I've played through all the available content and messed around after completing everything I could in the beta demo, and done a quick play-through of the current demo, for context this demo is shorter than the beta version before this so I've seen more than what is in this demo, but not by a lot.

It definitely looks like it will live up to my expectations and from what I see so far it looks like it is a worthy sequel, it's the good old Mining Mechs we all know and love but with improvements & polish, some changed systems, and of course new content, etc.
Do you like mining games? You will like this. Do you miss Motherload? You will love this.
Voice-acted characters and customization for your own character is great and adds a lot of personality to the game, I was really happy to see that added to this game!

In an attempt to not yap on too much as they say these days(I think I failed at that attempt) I'll tell you that Mining Mechs and the reviews on Mining Mechs are perfectly applicable to this game(demo) to get an idea of whether or not this game is for you, some features and such may not apply. Giving my review of the first game a read will definitely help you in deciding whether or not to give Super Mining Mechs a try.

If you liked the first Mining Mechs you will like this one as well, while it's easy to want to say "It's the same game but better", I'm trying to refrain from that because while yes it is the same premise, same genre, same atmosphere and so on, it is improved upon a lot, it has taken the core of the first game and improved upon it heavily. Playing with a controller feels much better in this game, several systems have been changed and improved in my opinion, several new features have been added, the game seems to be a lot bigger but that is difficult to tell yet as you wont come close to seeing all the content in the demo, again I love that voice acting is added & character customization is great. I could probably go on for a while but I think you get the idea now :).

As a mining-game fanatic I'm really excited for another entry into this series and I am so happy for the developer that they found some success with this game, or should I say this series of games now :D?

I can't wait to play the full release!

Dome Keeper is a creative mix of genres and mechanics that has been well put together to create a very good and unique tower defence mining game with roguelike elements.

It actually has a lot of strategy to it and allows a lot of creativity and choice from the player with a large and good selection of different skills, equipment, weapons, abilities and perks to pick and choose from.

Dome Keeper is a satisfying and enjoyable mix of laid back mining, tower defence-like combat, and strategy & skill.
The strategy comes into play in regards to how you mine for the most optimal output, what equipment and perks you decide to bring with you, in what order you upgrade everything with your resources and what equipment you potentially get and pick during a run, and as already mentioned it has a large amount of different equipment, perks, dome weapons, etc. allowing for a large amount of different play-styles, or 'builds' essentially.

The actual attack-wave I think is not where most of your skill is shown off as it is more or less decided before the attack wave if you'll survive or not, it's dependant on how much you've upgraded, what you upgraded, what abilities you picked, etc.
The actual attacks where the tower defence like gameplay happens is obviously still strategic and fun but where you spend the most of your time and make the most choices is the mining in-between the attacks.

It's a great achievement hunt game as well and it's fun to do another run where you try to employ completely different tactics in terms of what equipment you decide to use this time, and each run feels rewarding as you unlock new things after each run you win.

You can also get permanent upgrades by completing Guild Assignments which is basically a challenge run and each challenge comes with a 'Regular' & 'Challenge' difficulty. Completing an assignment gives you 1 point(or 2 if you do it on the Challenge difficulty) to spend on permanent upgrades for your standard runs.
The upgrades are not massively powerful, so you do not feel forced to complete all assignments, but they are still nice and good motivators to get them if you want.

As you play you also unlock run modifiers that you can choose to use or not. Some of them are really strong upgrades while others create a completely different way of playing the game.

There's also a competitive Prestige mode which is a game mode where the goal is to gain as many points as possible, this is on a public leaderboard with new seasons after big game updates. This is to create a fresh board to compensate for potential new metas after updates. Prestige mode has 4 different variations to it: Countdown, Endless, Provocations, Miner.
And anyone who wants to play Prestige mode in a more forgiving manner can play with the 'Friendly Mode' on, which is Prestige on a lower difficulty and the leaderboard is only amongst you and your friends.

It really does have a lot of different games-modes and ways to play the game.
With 4 difficulties and with 1 of them being Normal(Brutal is default) I'm sure it is possible to play this game in a much easier and more laid-back & relaxing way as well.
This game shines of creativity, innovative gameplay and uniqueness from the developer.
The core gameplay & the core gameplay-loop, the fundamentals if you will, always stays the same but it has a lot of things to spice and mix things up a bit.

It also has Steam Workshop functionality for mods, but at the time of writing this review the mods for this game are not exactly plentiful.

I hope my review described the game enough help you make an informed decision on whether to buy it or not!
If you're looking for a strategic and skilful roguelike tower-defence with mining gameplay, then Dome Keeper is for you.
If challenge, strategy, somewhat repetitive gameplay and a lot of choices is not something you feel particularly inclined to then you should probably pass on this one.

I you like Motherload, Motherload-likes and mining games in general you'll love this.

It was a fun, entertaining and satisfying 8-hour game, I love mining games to an unhealthy degree so I really enjoyed it, but I am critical. There are many Motherload-likes that are awful, but this is not one of them, this is one of the good ones. Note that when I say 'Motherload-likes' I do not mean that in a negative way, when I positively compare a mining game to Motherload I mean it as a very good compliment.
The developer seems to be involved, fixing bugs and staying on top of things which is great!

Over-all the gameplay did not lack in anything, I was not left wanting something or feeling like something was missing.
It is, from start to finish, smooth, fun and satisfying. It seems to be very well made, no bugs, no issues.
It is right up my alley, I played it as a chill 'couch' game or whatever you want to call it while watching things on another monitor, just how I like to play these games.

So, if you want the verdict from a mining game fanatic: This is one of the great ones and you should absolutely play it!

The controls are great(I used a controller), it has a lot of cool items to buy from the shop, a very large amount of upgrades, modifiers and perks that you research progress for by finding parts while mining that you can equip and un-equip which makes for many different possible strategical approaches.
There is also an elevator which makes it a lot less tedious to fly up/fall down for what feels like minutes at a time, as instead you can take the elevator to different depths that you must discover.

The game has a story and several characters that you can talk to and hidden lore about early human civilization by way of old artifacts and such hidden in the ground.
You go through several different biomes as you mine deeper and deeper, all of which have unique things about them such as enemies & hazards, different temperatures so you must make sure you do not over-heat or over-cool, limited visibility, and other things, and of course different aesthetics.

It has 3 difficulty options alongside a custom difficulty settings menu where you can modify a bunch of different specific modifiers yourself. This is great for re-play ability alongside the decent amount of achievements.

The options menu for the game itself is great and is not lacking, including the ability to turn off screen-shake and controller vibrations. You can re-bind every key, different sliders for different audio, etc.

It's reasonably priced, at the very least put it on your wishlist and get it during a sale.

If you want another game like this I urge you to check out Mining Mechs.

Plantera 2 is pretty much the same exact game as its predecessor except for some expansion in art and some additional plants/animals/items.
It's a simplistic clicker & idler with a reasonable price for the amount of game you get.

It's easy to get 100% achievements, it's a nice little game to have on a 2nd or 3rd monitor while doing other stuff if you're the type of person to enjoy that.
It's not action-filled, it doesn't require much attention from the player at all and you can leave it to 100% idle if you want and just do some upgrades every once in a while, if you want.
Actively clicking in it obviously does speed it up a bit.

Other than the new items to buy and a cheat mode that unlocks inside the new oak tree in the middle of the map at around level 50 it is functionally identical to Plantera 1.

I'd say this store page and the game description does the game justice in terms of what the game is, it's not more or less than what you see on this store page, quite straightforward and you should be able to understand if it's up your street or not.

Where's My Loot? is a short game where the objective is exactly what it says it is: Find the 100 hidden objects in the form of typical items and loot you might find an RPG game on a large medieval-themed map.

It's 1 single large map, you can zoom in quite a lot. I got 95 items in 25 minutes then was stuck on the last 5 for 20 minutes, still didn't find any of the last 5 and then decided to use the hint system, and in my defense the last 5 were a bit cheesy and didn't really follow the rules that had been established for the previous 95 items.

I've had it on my wishlist for quite a while and I just happened to be in the mood for it and I got exactly what I expected out of it, a quick, satisfying game in a theme I enjoy to finish quickly while watching a video on a 2nd monitor before winding down for the night.

I knew this going into it so I'm not bothered by it but do note that the full price probably isn't worth it, I didn't even get a full hour of gameplay out of it.
If it looks like something you'd enjoy as a quick little casual experience one day you might still want to put it on your wishlist and wait for a sale, 1$ feels more rational and reasonable for a such a small, short and simple game.

Nota bene: The game might start in a horrendously low resolution, make sure to increase the resolution by clicking on the Gear icon in the top-right corner if that happens.

I'd only buy this if you've played through the main game and liked it so much that you want to play it more, do some New Game+, etc.

It doesn't add that much, winter theme with fighter-style robots and different minerals. Fewer quests and fluff content. It's a nice way to mix up the game-play if you like to play this game over and over.

I like it but just understand that it doesn't add a ton of stuff, you can look at it as a type of re-skin.
It is reasonably priced though and if you like the game enough to play through it many times I recommend it.
