The exact number of owls is unknown, but according to the series the rough estimate of all the owls excels at 5,000. The army is composed of many divisions. Later in the series, after multiple confrontations with the guardians, their numbers dwindled greatly. In the Wolves of the Beyond series, however, General Nyra was said to have been leader of a "hellish legion of owls", raising their numbers to approximately 3,000 to 6,000.
