The game has some much depth to it that is rarely seen in other games. I have learned more about the era between 1444 and 1820 than I have in actual school. The single player is easily addictive and offers the player lots of freedoms to set play any country in the world, have their own direction, goals, and play styles. Although there is a very small MP community, the multiplayer games are easily the best part of this game. It is a whole new game where political scheming and diplomacy over take military capability of a player. Smaller underdog countries can easily beat larger countries by banding together the enemies of their enemies to their side. The tension and the balance of power makes for a long and intriguing game that feels like what happened in real life. Multiplayer has a Game of Thrones-esque feel that is not present in any other game. Although this game is very difficult to learn and nearly impossible to fully master, once the full depthness is realized, it will reveal its self to be the greatest grand strategy game ever.

DLCs are annoying but it's well worth it considering the time you spend on the game.
