While I originally fell in love with this game concept, it has been 7 years since it launched, and there are still bugs that have been plaguing this game since release. Even now, I just had a run ended where the countess yeeted a teammate, killed them, and then they revived automatically with half a heart, despite having no reason for it to happen. The was then followed by her doing it a second time, before dragging me into another room with her, and instantly killing me, despite the door having opened up a second prior, indicating the boss was dead.

While I am still in love with the idea of Never Split the Party, there needs to stop being new content, and a focus on fixing what you already have. Hit boxes, unfair mechanics where you get locked into a kill box because of narrow hallways, a rework of how items are purchased (instead of contact buying, you have a perfectly useful "interact" hotkey.), and a little more variety in how the classes feel.

Take Beastmaster for example: When you mention having minions that deal more damage, 99% of games will have features that revolve around being able to summon a monster, periodically gaining one over time, or having a higher level means more monsters. Instead, you get a tiny portal that acts as having a second attacker.

Synopsis: You play as one of multiple characters, going through different biomes, in an effort to reach the end boss and the loot they guard. You can play as a cute mouse named Purse, a robot named CR-8, or any of the other cute "container" named characters. The game is all about managing your inventory space, while setting up a build within it to handle the fights along the way. Each level up will give you more space to work with, but there is a catch. Each character has a completely different way of utilizing their backpack. While one is straightforward inventory management, another might require you to set up specific pathways for character exclusive items. Don't worry though, because each one is given a small tutorial to teach you how to use them at their most basic levels. Have fun backpacking!

The good:

Graphics are themed and cute

Music is relaxing, and pretty good on the ears

Difficulty can range from easy to hard, but is mostly based on the skill of the player

The bad:

There are always new bugs with each patch, but this is a minor issue, as the dev team works to quickly fix any that pop up.

The sounds can get repetitive at times

Each map doesn't really feel all that unique. It becomes a "go from this icon to the next" without anything happening in between.

You have almost nothing to lose by getting this game. What you have to gain is a time sink that will draw you in for hours.

They changed some of the best parts of the game, for absolutely no reason. Crystals instead of orbs, no minigame prizes, peninsula of power removed...This makes getting a low level class change almost impossible without utilizing glitches to skip bosses.

The replay value seems to tank after you play through the game... Until you start a new game, where the enemies locations have changed slightly, there are more of them, and you are now destined to rage at the unexpected damage increase. On the plus side, it is not a hard game to beat, nor even master.

I will say that there are quite a few bugs I have found, that are uncontrollable. Just make sure you save often, or you will have a bad time.
