I don't understand why "Epic Materials" (per EULA) were included in this game's code, yet only effects users outside of Europe. I'm willing to change this review to positive if that is made clear, because I enjoy the game, but I enjoy transparency more.

Slay the Spire is a way to learn what you're truly capable of. As you progress through each Ascension level you may find you hit walls that are insurmountable. Ten, twenty, thirty attempts and nothing -- "It's impossible," you think. "It's unlucky, punishing RNG and a waste of time," you'll conclude. Or perhaps, "I'm just not good enough; I can't do it. Screw this game."

Then one day, out of nowhere, it clicks. You find that the issue wasn't the game, it was your approach. It doesn't take 700 hours to experience this, but even if it did, it'd be worth it. Life is no different. : )

Edit: You guys are very kind for the awards... (not sure I deserve them!) I just really love this game!

It's times like these that I'm reminded of an old tale I once heard. Ah yes. You see, legend speaks of a time in the not too distant past when a man called Steve Jobs supposedly said, "Real artists ship."

What does that have to do with anything? What does that even mean? Is this just another trolling, "Off-topic" review? Can't say. This is, however, an earnest plea to our friends in Québec.

BHVR don't worry about being artists, just be developers. It's okay to scrap content releases. It's especially okay to apologize to your player base when you... well yeah.

(p.s. they may even think higher of you, who knows?)

Fabulous writing, acting and setting. Better than most of what Hollywood's churned out since 2015. Although a FMV through-and-through, it could easily be adopted as a feature film. Too bad that will never happen, it hits a little too close to places that funds tend not to follow.

These are must have DLCs.
