While this game does have a lot of the usual Ubisoft map spam, if you can soothe your completionist side and ignore the stuff that really isn't that important, this game is one of the best Star Wars *experiences* I have had in ages. Some of the parts are a little wonky, but the problems with stealth and such that people were complaining about at launch seem like they have been fixed in the patch that preceded the Steam release.

There's still a few rough edges -- the speeder controls caused me a fair share of frustration and I had to unlearn my No Man's Sky controls in order for the space stuff to really gel, but they are far overwhelmed by the cohesive whole. The characters aren't super complicated, but they are well-written and there's a lot of fun interactions between Kay and the others. What's really refreshing is that aside from a few small and generally well-deployed instances, there's not a lot here that is hanging on the Skywalkers and friends, and the baggage that creates.

I also really enjoyed the Wild Card DLC; it was a fun little romp, even though I have some questions about how some events *really* fit in the timeline. I am not sure I'd say it was worth 20 bucks (since I got it on sale), but I definitely don't feel like the money was wasted between it and the Jabba mission that came with the game, especially if the next DLC is at least as good.

I really hope this game gets a critical and commercial reassessment in the next couple months, because I'd love another game in this series and it sure seems like that's not super likely at this point.
