FIRST: If you own an nVidia video card, be sure to update your drivers to one of the last 2-3 newest builds and remember to enable "Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling" in your Windows 10 settings (you can search for "GPU" in the settings app to find it). This is what ultimately resolved the worst of the crash problems to the point where it is almost flawless (though I did still occasionally crash out).

I can safely move this one from "Not Recommended" to "Recommended" for folks who are willing to put up with some quirks, occasional crashes and general jankiness in the code.

Yeah, I love Horizon Zero Dawn enough that I pushed through my frustration with the code issues and completed the journey a second time (on PC, this time). The game is HUGE with a ton of side quests, hunting grounds, collectibles and so-on. You can easily lose yourself while wandering the various areas within this game. The devs did an outstanding job on the art style at every angle that i could find (the30fps hair issue notwithstanding).

If you want a game that will make you want to gather every last item that you can - complete that trial that's been making you crazy as you inch your way closer to 1st place or just want a deep an interesting story of a possible future for humanity, then this is the game for you.

I still say that Guerrilla Games did this release a HUGE disservice by releasing it without proper testing. The "Not Recommended" reviews may never get updated, as mine has been, because those folks may have become fed up, dropped their review, then refunded the game. So bear in mind that the game has DEFINITELY improved with path 1.03. I am confident that Guerrilla Games isn't ignoring the frustrations of the players who're still having issues.

Bottom Line: Buy this game if you want to experience what I think is the one of the BEST PlayStation game on that platform and you want to experience a fun story. The voice actors for this game were all outstanding. I hope that you can look past this game's flaws and enjoy it, as I did (again).

PREVIOUS REVIEW:
I absolutely loved Horizon Zero Dawn on PS4. I played it (as well as the expansion) and completed all of the PS4 "Trophies". I was excited by this game releasing on PC. I should not have been.

Guerilla Games made a catastrophic error in releasing this game in the state that it is currently in. I cannot recommend that anyone pay anywhere near full price for this bug-ridden pile of code that was released.

Yes, I know that this is harsh, but after MULTIPLE CRASHES, I cannot remain patient anymore. When Guerilla Games releases a patch that resolves _ALL_ of these crashes, I will revisit this review and make it reflect the true quality of the game and its world.

Right now, the technical issues are too numerous and random to safely mess with. It's still in "beta" state, as far as I am concerned.

What a real shame.

It's funny. I owned Metro 2033 before the Redux release came out. I played it but never got around to finishing the game (probably got distracted by other games being released).

I finally "dusted off" this game and started the Redux version from the beginning. The story is quite interesting, the gameplay is good at keeping you surprised as you move through. Finding every notebook is tricky and it's important to remember to find the safe keys and use them as you move through the game. The extra loot the safes contain really will save you in the game.

TL;DR: Buy this in the "Metro Redux" package with Last Light. You won't regret giving it at least single play-through!
