Nonograms 22 is a pretty nonogram collection, reminding me a lot of the PICROSS S games on switch, but seems to do everything I dislike in one of these games.

  • There's a lot of 5x5 and 7x7, around 50 of them must be beaten before having access to anything of substance.

  • The on-screen controls are fairly pointless, and take up a lot of screen space, a toggle at least would be nice.

  • the fill and X tools overwrite each other, annoying to notate a column and not be able to just cleanly slide my answers in.

  • Multiple puzzles cant be solved without guessing, some even right at the start. This is a bigger issue with the lives system, as you can be penalized and possibly restart a puzzle due to chance. Sometimes you can tell with the shape which way its supposed to go, but there's been times where you cant, or you have to guess before placing anything down.

Theres more examples and i only got through ~30% of the puzzles.

  • Crashed a couple times, for such a simple game, I'm surprised that it happened multiple times on a fairly decent setup and only Discord open in the background.

  • Lack of steam achievements. Normally this isn't a huge deal, but you have achievements built into the game, it can't be too hard to make those into steam achievements

In short, save your money. If you want nonograms on steam, Picross touch is free and Pictopix is in a similar price range, run better and even have workshop levels.
