I have received this product for free, but it won't change my overall idea, nor that it will influence my opinion in any way.

TLDR; Look for ''Overall'' bellow

Puzzle-Brawler does describe Fat Mask pretty well.
Let me summarize: There is 2 main game mode: Solo/Coop and Free for all.
In the solo/coop mode, you have to build block combos before a time limit (represented by 2 red ''walls'' that close on the screen. Once they touch it's time out). As soon as you do a combo, the ''walls'' withdraw themselves a bit. The greater the combo is, the wider the walls will open. This can be played with friends: Building the biggest combo using teamwork.

The Free-for-All mode is a 2-4 players brawler in which you have to do combos and ''close'' them. In order to do so, once the player has hitted 3 or more blocks of the same color, the combo will have a timer before it automatically closes, becoming yours and adding the score of the combo to your total score. You can either expand the combo (adding blocks) and resetting the combo timer or close it by throwing a block to the ''target'' block. The thing is, before closing a combo, anyone can add a block onto it and/or close it. It means that anybody can take your points away, taking your hard work away from you.

I will break down this review into 4 main points: Gameplay, Music, Graphics, Fun Factor.(yes!).

Gameplay:
The thing that is original about FatMask is that it's not your typical puzzle game. Instead of moving the blocks like you would do with tetris, Candy Crush Saga, Tricky Tower, Dr. Mario or Columns, you have a character to move in an arena. This character îs used to pick and throw blocks in order to create color-based combos. You pick and throw blocks into one another to create a chain of 3 colors, then you can close the combo or expend it by adding another block to it.

The mechanics are simple but get deeper once you master the basics. So: If two combos of different colors touch each other, they become a greater combo. If you create a combo on a target block (opening another combo by throwing a block onto the target block of another combo) it closes both combos and fuses them. It's a little har to explain at first

Controls are tight and simple to learn. You use D-Pad/Jostick/WASD to move, one button to take and throw blocks, one button to jump and one to fart (giving a little speed boost, but i am not sure if it is useful or not TBH).
The only negative point is that it seems that sometimes I wanted to throw a block upward (pressing up) and the character threw it downward instead but I don't know if in the heat of the fight I pressed the wrong direction. It might've happened since that this is kind of a fast paced game.

Graphics
YOU CAN'T GET LOST . Let me explain that. The game is beautifully colored and colors are varied. Every type of block has it's own color and it's own shape. Every character has it's own color. The character's colors are distinct from the blocks colors. In other words you can't get lost on the screen. Even in the madness that is the 4-players mode, you always know where you are and where the open combos are. In my opinion, this is genius. In one look you know what happens and where you are.

The background is also very distinct from the foreground. And the blend of color is easy on the eyes and pretty. It is also different than the 8-bit 16-bit trend that there is in the indi world right now making the art really unique.

Music
Antoine Vachon did an incredible job on the songs. They all feel unique and gives the game just the right touch. If you haven't listened to it yet, it is available on his soundcloud. Even if it is a great ''combo'' with the game (bad pun intended) it's also enjoyable on it's own.

Fun Factor
The game is fun. It is fun if it's your first time playing it, and it's still fun to play after putting in hours into it (it's written that I've played 0.8hrs but i've played a lot more actually). It's best played with friends, but the solo mode is also enjoyable. I would easily play this during a whole night with friends.

Also this is a couch multiplayer game there is no online gameplay.

Overall
This game is worth it's 9.99 USD price tag. It is fun to play with friends and family (if you don't mind breaking up friendships). I recommend it for all it's qualities I've listed above. It is worth adding to your party nights along Towerfall, Tricky Tower and other party games!

So sit down on your couch, grab your controllers, some chips and diet coke and have fun
9.2/10

Early Access Review
Insanely thrilling and satisfying.

-Got a car, killed 2 persons with it, wanted to take a right, pressed F at 70 MPH.
Died.
Retried over, and over.
And over and over.-

Don't have much time in life, but i'd like to play this more.

I can't believe that this game is so amazing. I feel like someone answered my prayer about what ressembled the most the game I was playing when I felt stressed, down etc.

I must say that I am sad that I don't have that much time to sink into the game. Otherwise I would probably be able to play a minimum of 250 hrs.

Disclaimer: I had fun playing this game, so this is why I put Thumbs up (Recommend) But I'd put a ''meh'' thumbs for the rest.

The game is really short (about 2 hours) and the ending is... really disapointing. I won't spoil anything, but I expected more than the cliché it delivered.

You are a 2 year old child, and it feels charming. The game, in itself is gorgeous I believe. The controls are simple and ok and I just love the Teddy. But the game is a bit ''too simple'' and too easy. The only part I had a hard time with is finding the last exit after running around an hour (I was really tired, so it's not even the game's fault).

This is clearly meant to be a game that you see the world from the eye and the mind of a child and I get that the world he sees is not really the world as it is.

The real con is... The game is not scary... in any way. It's not scary as an experience (I didn't felt helpless), it's not jumpscary (yes, there are monsters... 2 times) it's not freaky. I mean, there should've been emphasis on the child's feeling and how it changes his perception of the world, and no emphasis on the child's body. We get it... he's small and can't climb a lot of things. I want to know how he/she feels (I am still not sure about the sex of the infant) not how it moves... we pretty much all know how a baby moves. A child sees his furniture big: MAKE IT BIG! Don't make it real size, make it like the baby sees it!

Also, the Teddy, while being cute, puts too much emphasis on the ''It's dark here, I don't like it'' and... nothing happens.
The ''puzzles'' are too simple (yes I know, it reflects the child's capabilities... but as a player I would've like to be challenge in a new way like ''What would a baby do in that situation''. Not... ''Oh... there is 6 holes here... there 6 owls to find... I am not sure what i am supose to do''

So I would kind of recommend it, because it is fun... and that the adventures worth the game. But... THE PRICE! This game isn't worth 19.99$. There is no exploration per se (the only places you ''explore'' are to find ''keys'' to put in ''switches'') and the rest are just narrow spaces that you go from point A to point B.

The overall design is great though. The music is awesome, the visuals are great and the sounds are also great. The word ''Atmospheric'' really pin point the game, as it surrounds you with beautifulness.

But the story... and the gameplay are a bit disapointing. Not BAD, disapointing! It could've been more (Well, every game could bee more, but I mean, as this game in itself, it could've been more)
Finish it! (Completionist Ranking)

One sentence: This game is hard. Hard as f*ck. (Actually, two sentences).
I must say that it's weird to make a review of this kind of game because... the game's mechanics are really simple, making you wonder if it is a game in itself.
This isn't an horror game per se, but it is a kind of horror game. It seems contradictory, but it's not. There is a lot of different ''horror'' games, and this is one of them.

Let me explain: It's not... scary... it's spooky/freaky. Let me explain: This game is rich in visual and emotions. It makes you feel strange inside, and it breaks the fourth wall. The horror comes from your own emotions. The horror, is the weirdness that this game try to make you feel, and it succeeds, in my own opinion. There are levels in which you think that it's never going to end, or that you might never succeed. No matter how hard you try, you still feel helpless. The character is (You are) slow, the attacks are slow, so the ''freaky'' factor comes from the way you move. You are nothing in a ''fast'' moving world.
The spooky factor comes from the atmosphere. The sounds are weird. The footsteps sounds are heavy, like if you had the burden of the world on you. Multiple noises comes from everywhere. And you ask yourself: ''What's the point?'' ''where do I go?'' ''What's the purpose of everything'' ''It seems so random''. This game is hard.
And when you wanna quit the game, you have one sentence saying: ''I can't go on like this... I give up.....''.

It think that this game's about depression, and how life can be hard for some. I'll try to make a full deep review of this game on youtube in French, and also in English and cover it from front to back. It deserve some praise because I think that this ''game'' is more a work of ''Art'' than an ''entertainment''. (Don't get me wrong, Art is a large word, but in this case, it is used to express ''a form of work that makes you feel diferrent emotions''). So I do recommend this experience, because it is a real ''charm' in it's genre.

Some will find this game frustrating... and yes it is. The NEGATIVE thing I have to say about it is that, sometime, (and it seems random) you have to start the game all over again. I am really disapointed in this, because I want to know more about it and my skills are really low in the 3rd (or 4th... not sure) and i am unable to fully get the whole narrative.

One of my friend bought me this game, because he wanted me to play and analyse it. And I will do a full coverage on it for sure! I am happy that some games are more than ''just a piece to entertain a mass''. The puzzles are weird, as they are not puzzles like ''Zelda'' or ''Myst'' or whatever other mainstream ''puzzle'' game (Don't get me wrong here, I appreciate mainstream games also). Pricing is also good. There are piece of s**t selling for 20-35$, and this game is less than 5$ for one of those experiences.

Simple controls. Really fun arcade game with 4 persons playing in the same room. This game's a blast! I will continu to play this game for long with my friends. Lot's of mode

I am a horror game fan and I must say that this game gave me goosebumps. There's a lot to say about FNAF 2.

First, this game's mechanics are different than the first one and they're a lot more complex which is a pro. There is a lot more animatronics that are running on you.

Unfortunately though, the jumpscares goes out pretty quickly. After a few runs, you won't jump at all because you know who's coming and you know the mistake you did just when you do it. It's a lot of trial and error also. But these are the only cons I can find in this game. When you finish a night, you feel so accomplished that even if you do not jump when an animatronic scares you, you are relieved to finish a night. Also, it is A LOT HARDER than the first one.

This game's challenge is rewarding. It feels so good when you finish the night that i can't even describe what is this feeling exactly!
