I hate this game. It's beautiful, engaging, rewarding, and I suck at it, making it unbelievably frustrating. I prefer the way it looks, feels, and functions compared to BFV and BF2042 (pathetic).

There are 4 of these games. This is the one you should pay attention to.

Coming back to this game after having played the 3rd and 4th installments is truly a breath of fresh air. While Just Cause 3 modernized the series and brought lots of welcome little QoL improvements to the table, Just Cause 4 effectively took the least appealing aspects of JC3 and, rather than dispense with them and mingle the best of 2 and 3, leaned further into them, driving a death nail into the series in the process.

Avalanche went the wrong direction with the series, and it started with the changes to the physics and animation. JC2 is so wonderful for largely the same reason that the violence in Tom and Jerry is wonderful. It's the physics, sound effects, and the sense of real weight and momentum behind everything that makes it so viscerally satisfying and fun. JC3 and, more so, 4 felt very loose and floaty, which immediately breaks immersion.

That was my main gripe with the sequels to this game, but there is a laundry list of other unfortunate design choices that were made that I'm certain others have pointed out.

All that to say, this is the best one. Absolutely one of the highest value-for-money games you can buy. Most of the time you can buy it for less than a bag of pork rinds. Heck, you can buy this whole series for peanuts. Go ahead. It's not like you can't extract at least SOME joy out of JC4. Play it with your friends. Pass the controller around. Get it on your Steam Deck. This series is perfect for mobile fun.

Followed the development of this mod for a long time and it was great to see it finally come around. Though, I quickly got bored of this one. JC2 MP just seemed to be so much more fun and the community, before this mod came along, really helped make it that way. JC3MP, unfortunately, consists of a one-dimensional playerbase that, if you look at transcripts of their respective internal monologues, each would read "Spawn biggest airplane. Blow up.... Do that again." That gets so old so fast.

20 years old and still one of the very best examples of a Star Wars video game. Believe it or not, there’s still an active online community for this game, mostly for its exemplary swordplay. The Jedi Knight series is LucasArts games at their peak. If you get it on sale, it’ll be one of the better 2-3 dollars you’ve ever spent. In fact, maybe you could use your lightsaber to cut those trees down and make a bridge.

A hidden gem of an online shooter. Slow paced gameplay, but a great game if you’re looking for Wild West action.

If you don’t download, you’re a yellowbellied coward.
