Spaghetti simulator

pretty decent game, can't complain considering it's free!

I was initially hesitant about this game as the development team is the same team that was involved with development on 'The Dead Linger' which was an abandoned zombie early access game that promised a lot and delivered pretty much none of that, however, after playing for almost 9 hours and barely scratching the surface, I'm having a blast and I can see that this project is absolutely a labour of love and has had an extraordinary amount of effort put into it.

I'd highly recommend this game to any survival game fans, it's such a unique and fresh take, combining Half-Life 1 with the survival genre whilst nailing the progression and all the hallmarks of a survival game. Highly recommended, the devs have a roadmap which looks achievable and exciting, the first update for the game was fast and added a surprising amount of content. The future looks promising for Abiotic Factor!

FUN GAME

This review isn't about the countless performance issues, crashes etc.

The gameplay, is just at best, boring. There's nothing here that wills me to play it further, the game needs polish, movement feels laggy and sluggish. The sound design is pretty bad, the ambient noise was driving me insane just from the hour I played. The combat isn't satisfying, doesn't feel punchy at all, the AI are horrendously bad so the PvE, at least at the beginning, isn't rewarding whatsoever.

To me, there's nothing unique about the game, and right now it isn't worth it. I also don't approve of the EFT style monetisation, giving you in-game benefits like increased stash size for paying more money, as much as people argue that it isn't P2W, it is P2W.

Has promise, but right now I don't recommend.

Practically abandoned by Capcom, game runs trash months later. Not recommended.

When this game released, I played for a bit, and then dropped the game and left a negative review because whilst the promise was there, the game was ultimately frustrating to play and plagued with issues.

Revisiting the game after the new update, I have to say, what a phenomenal improvement. The game runs better, plays better and is everything that was promised before release and more. Kudos to the dev team for the hard work, and I highly recommend anyone on the fence or anyone who has dropped the game previously to try it again. Looking forward to diving in more.
