Alright so this gamei s pretty good. I am a heavy stradegy gamers and I love tactical games like Total War, CS, Civ, etc. I find this game to be brilliant in its complexity and a worthy buy for any who wish to be challenged intellectually and as a gamer. This game incorportates so much of what a country is at its most simple roots and takes dedication and time to understand and get good at. There is nothing better than starting as a city state in Germany and then conquering your small part of the world until you gain the power that big countries like France and England have right at hte begining of each game. I couldn't comment on the historical accuracy of everything that happens, but I feel this game takes into account a lot of past events and incorportates them into the gameplay pretty well. In regards to my overall feelings, I feel the game is great, however I hate way it is presentd on the market. Paradox tries to squeeze every little drop of money out of this game by releasing DLCs that do not enhance the gameplay to the amount they are sold. I am not sure what the deal is, but this specific thing is waht drove me to write this review. You can have fun and play the game in vanilla form, but in order to get even the slightest of game enhancements, you have to buy a 15$ DLC that provides only a select group of people with additional gameplay, and this takes away from the gaming expirence. As an avid gamer, I hate the feeling that I am playing a version of a game that isn't as good as another version of the same game. I will give you an example: In the diplomacy tab, with the CoP DLC, you get an additional option shown as "Ask to support Independence," or something like that. It was in the game before the DLC came out according to the EU4 wiki page, and was then taken out in the vanilla version and put into the DLC making it only possible to continue to play with this option by buying the 15$(still is 15$) DLC. When playing as Holland or any other nation that is a vassal or gets vassalized easily(i.e the Irish nations) it makes gaining independence etrodinarily difficult as you have to fight off your oppressor by yourself, which is usually difficult. Now, given there might be another way to gain independence, but it is not obvious as of now and the fact that I would have to buy a DLC in order to enhance the gameplay of select nations hurts this games reputation and takes away from the overall gameplay. I wish they would change this because I would have 1000 hours instead of 100. Given I am not saying to not buy the game; I think it is great and is a good play for any analytically inclined gamer. But this is just ridiculous and nonsensical. I hope this helps. Sorry for spelling, fast typer and no autocorrect.
