May be a little petty of me to leave a negative review so long after I actually played this game, but it popped into my head while I was considering purchasing 'The Casting of Frank Stone.' and remembered this game being the reason I have never touched another Supermassive game since.

Point 1 - I just don't like this style of game: I like horror games. Mostly for extra immersion, horror films don't scare me anymore so I use games for a scary experience instead. I never got the point in these interactive move type horror games because if I'm looking for a scary game I don't want endless cut-scenes and if I'm wanting to turn my brain off and watch a film instead I don't want to be interrupted by stuff to do. It just feels like two separate halves of an experience.

Point 2 - Choices don't really matter: That bit of the review was definitely a matter of opinion, however, the big issue I have with this game is the fact they brand it as a 'choices matter' type of game. I am pretty sure all but 1 of my characters died from a failed quick time event. I feel as though in a 'choices matter' game that shouldn't even be a possibility. Maybe the choices 'can' matter but I didn't see that side to it in my one and only playthrough.

Also the game has too many scripted jumpscares.

I beg we get a season 2 of this. It's another great entry in the f2f series.

It has it's fair share of bugs which would require restarting from the last checkpoint which was totally fine for a first playthrough but rendered a no death run much harder so I'm holding off on it until a patch.

This series peaked in scariness with 3 whereas 4 and 5 are just more of the same as we have come to expect and love but despite the chases losing their impact - the jumpscares still offered a heavy dose of adrenaline and the plot was a lot more involved this time around with good twists.

Heavily recommend this entire series to anyone who loves old vhs style ambient horror games.

"Guys don't you like DBD, I love DBD alright. DBD is my favourite game 24/7, I play this game around the clock." - Rapidmain, while in full Joker cosplay.

I really wanted to like this game, I went into it expecting the Subnautica of driving games but I just don't like much about it. The anomalies don't seem like much of a threat or look threatening and they seem so random, I hate the saving system and overall I just found it to be very boring. There is so much going on to make it confusing yet so little actual interesting gameplay. But clearly I am in the minority so if you think you will like it despite my issues with it. Go for it.

Easily the scariest Amnesia to date. In fact best not to leave each room until you have thrown a grenade through the door into the abyss and hope it decimates the entire area, killing the spooky monster. 10/10 horror experience.

Early Access Review
Really great so far! Everything that I can comment on negatively is just super nit-picky and doesn't hurt the experience of the game.

I think the level design is really strong and allows for a much less linear journey (I know from experience as I completely missed the sewers early game.)

I am more of a horror person and I wanted to get the game anyway because Kira made it and although it isn't necessarily a scary game, it has enough creepy elements (reminiscent of Lost in Vivo) in certain areas to satisfy a horror fan.

Also the story is a little bare bones and a little disconnected from gameplay so far but might need to wait for a full release to see it fully develop. But get the game if you want a fun fantasy RPG that consists of fighting cool monsters and exploring.
