At first, I didn't start using this Steam account much until the end of 2024, at which point I grew an interest in doing some sort of "reboot" of my presence on Steam. In fact, I couldn't remember what games I purchased on Steam in 2021, excluding DLC, until I looked up my purchase history.

As previously mentioned, I love Suwako Moriya. Tongue lashes, not so much, though. Bonus points for art based on her appearance in Touhou Hisoutensoku [soku.delthas.fr], or Soku for short.

I created my own games [yonih2.blogspot.com] in Game Maker [web.archive.org] 6.1, 7 and 8. It's a program that is easy to use. Studio versions of Game Maker introduced more functions, but I never really learned how to use them.

Kirby : Kirby and other characters in the series are cute. But in seriousness, most of the games are easy to beat, with simple platforming, forgiving bosses, and a generous lifebar depending on the game. My favorite games in the series include Kirby Super Star , Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards and Kirby Star Allies .

Marvel vs. Capcom : One of the main reasons I like playing the MvC games is the Magic Series, where a punch can be chained into a kick, followed by attacks of greater button strengths. Anyways, I like the sprite style used in the Darkstalkers , Street Fighter Alpha and MvC series. Most super moves are simply QCF or SRK motions + 2 buttons, unlike a lot of fighting game franchises where you'd have to do 2 QCF motions or some complex command to do a super. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is a prime example of an unbalanced fighting game, so much that most of the cast lurks on the character select screen in high level play. There's still a fair share of underdog characters, though. Romneto often shows highlights and matches of MvC2. Also, MvC1 and 2 gave us Roll's panty shots.

Mega Man : This franchise can be quite dynamic in its challenge, depending on how you approach it. The later games let you stock up on E-Tanks in case you need to refill your lifebar in the heat of an intense boss fight, or you could try to be a true Blue Bomber and go through as many obstacles as you can using only your regular Buster. The X sub-series I also enjoyed playing, with X4 being a fan favorite. Mega Man 2 and 6 seem to be good entry points in the series.

Pokémon : Pokémon introduced me to anime. My brother used to play the first two Generations back in the day. There's a lot of Pokémon designs that I enjoy. I feel like the series offers conveniences that other RPG's often don't have. Aside from Pokémon games, I don't usually play through RPG's. My favorite Generation is Gen III, as it evolved the series in so many ways, like introducing natures and abilities, and also having some of the best post-game content in Fire Red, Leaf Green and Emerald. Plus, there's something about seeing the sprites of the Kanto Pokémon [i.imgur.com] that couldn't be obtained in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, the shading style, the poses, I don't know how to describe it. I used to play Pokémon all the time during Gens IV and V, but starting in Gen VI, I couldn't really keep up with the series anymore. I would still play the newer Pokémon games from time to time. I like to watch highlights from a speedrunner named Werster, showing the most nonsense moments that can occur.

Puyo Puyo : Originally a spinoff of an RPG series called Madou Monogatari , this falling piece puzzle game franchise stars the different colored Puyo as the puzzle pieces. The 2nd game in the series, Puyo Puyo 2 / Puyo Puyo Tsu or just "Tsu", became the competitive standard of the series with its introduction of offsetting. Puyo Puyo is simple to play, but building big chains is hard. The game requires you to be very judicious in building those chains, as otherwise, your builds can be really inconsistent. That said, watching high level Puyo play between other players makes for spectacular moments. Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine was my first exposure to the series. I am passionate about the series for its charming characters, colorful art style and overall feeling. I used to frequent the Puyo Nexus [puyonexus.com] forums back in the day, until it closed in 2018. It pains me inside to know how Sega has treated [harddrop.com] the series after the localization of Puyo Puyo Tetris [medium.com] .

Street Fighter : Added here, since I do play a lot of Street Fighter II , even though I get tired of getting beat by players far more competent than I could ever be. As for the main series, SF1 was a rough intro, I was never really too avid for SF3, SF4 did its best please both casuals and pros, I spent only a tiny bit of time playing SF5, and I've never played SF6 before. It's no secret that as an ecchi fan and Lolicon, I am hated by fighting game players, especially Street Fighter II players. I even created my own modification titled, Bishoujo Super Street Fighter II: Glamor Queen and the New Femme Fatales [ssf2tnf.blogspot.com], along with a dedicated Discord Server [discord.gg] for it. The mod features half of the roster as female characters, and the game has been made easier and much more combo friendly. I'd like to try Pocket Fighter / Gem Fighter , as I like games that throw seriousness out the window.

Super Smash Bros. : Building the realm of platform fighters, I thought the 1st Smash Bros. was quite a quirky title at first glance. Then came Melee, and I was blown away at the beautiful intro, fast movement speed, and impactful sound effects. The concept of crossing over various Nintendo franchises led the games to great success, and it even motivated the Fire Emblem games to be localized. I used to play some modifications of Brawl, such as Project M and a few of its variants.

Generally speaking, I like games with vibrant colors, characters that are pleasant to look at, colorful scenery, are easy to pick up and play, and don't require strenuous thinking about how to succeed in them.
