Originally I was somewhat reluctant to purchase stardew valley as I'd disliked harvest moon like games.
Somehow, Stardew Valley managed to capture my attention and time well after purchase.

I've yet to focus on getting a wife in the game, so I've yet to experience the romance side of things, but I've definitely enjoyed the main game loop and the mining dungeons.

I had moments of fun with this game, but it's probably the most generic hack and slash game I've ever played in my life.
The story's a joke, so the gameplay's all it's got going for it.

If you're simply going to beeline through the game, I'm sure you'll have a great time, but should you decide you want to collect all the gold for the sake of completion you'll quickly tire of this game's overly simplistic mechanics and annoying difficulty.

For the record, I'm sure someone would enjoy this, but I personally wouldn't.

TL;DR: IF YOU WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME, DO IT, IF YOU WANT TO BE CONVINCED TO PLAY IT, DON'T.

This game has not aged well at all, and it shows despite being a "Director's cut".
The game modes vary from fun to tedious, depending on how well you adapt to the way characters interact with the enviroment such as getting stuck on things, being unexpectedly slow, an annoying camera, etc.

A general verdict without getting into much detail: 6/10.
I wouldn't recommend it to just someone looking for something to play, but if you came here wanting to play SA, which you probably have, just do it. You'll probably not regret it.
Just make sure never to skip any cutscenes, however slow or drawn out they may be.

On the subject of game modes: Tails > Gamma > Knuckles > Amy > Sonic >>>> Big's Hellish Fishing Adventure.
Two are races, one's an egg hunt, two are getting to the end, and one's just fishing.
Yes, you need to beat them all for the final boss mode.

Just ignore all the microtransaction ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and dlc, go for the gameplay, you'll have a good time.
DLC isn't required, but it is nice (not that you should have to stomach the 100$+ worth of it.

Word of warning, this game is stressful. and fun. and stressful.

When your team is shot, you've only 5 rounds between you, you've still not managed to open the vault because of your ♥♥♥♥ drill, and have a dozer coming to rip you a new one, things will become FUN.

Or, if you decide to be stealthy, you'll quickly start to hate security guards and civilians with a passion until you've gained the skills (in and out of game) to not trigger the lovely 10 second police response time.





Also, did I mention the game crashes whenever a SWAT truck spawns?

This is hard as balls.
The sounds are repetitive in a way that's annoying, birds flapping and you jumping sound horrible because of it.
Placement of certain obstructions will make you think you're playing Cat Mario
Story feels unimportant.
