UPDATE 7/28: As they continue to update the game and improve every other aspect, the server issues have somehow gotten even worse. I logged in to attempt a match today and had a really fun one, only one major lag spike making the game entirely unplayable for about 2 minutes in the middle of the match. This is currently the best case scenario when I play. I decided to play one more match, which opened up on 999 ms ping and stayed there until I was fully disconnected from the match and unable to log back in at all, which I haven't experienced before. I really like the game, guys, I'd love to give a good review. That "mixed" score probably isn't drawing in too many new players. At the time of writing I am fully unable to log back into the game at all, despite my connection being just fine elsewhere.


Really fun game, but the connection problems are just unsustainable. I know I'm not the only one having this issue, it gets brought up often enough all over the community. Consistently getting locked at 999 ping for every match despite being able to play other online games perfectly. I really want to enjoy this game but at the moment it is completely unplayable for me.

I want to stress: it is NOT pay-to-win like some people say. I have my minor gripes with the monetization but they aren't enough for me to downvote. I haven't encountered bots on anywhere near the scale other people are claiming. I haven't encountered any serious issues in balance. I think the game is a lot of fun, and when I'm able to play a match, I love it. But more often than not, no matter what my ping was on the launcher, no matter how good various tests say my internet speed is, as soon as the match begins I shoot up to 999ms ping and stay there for the whole match. I am dying before I even see another player. I know I'm not the only one experiencing this issue, and I know it's not on my end because I play plenty of online games just fine. This game is, at the moment, largely unplayable for me. If this one single issue is fixed then I have a lot of positives, I could make this a recommended review in a heartbeat because I want the community to thrive and more people to play, but as it is right now this is not a video game, this is an app on my computer where I watch an NPC with my username die a bunch of times without any input whatsoever on my part. I only keep trying because every now and then I get a match where I connect just fine and it's the most fun I've had in a multiplayer game in YEARS.

The reason this deserved more awards than your favorite remake of an old game is because it's better and more fun, hope this helps

The trilogy overall was a mess of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ decisions and business models, but the game at the core of all this has always been incredibly fun and World of Assassination (formerly Hitman 3) is the pinnacle of everything IOI has been building towards. The closest thing to a perfect Hitman experience we're likely to see for a very long time. Most of the DLC is pointless don't look at it (unless you're deep enough in an need a new fix, then some of it is kinda neat if you can get it at a discount, but also check out Freelancer first you don't need to pay for that part).
