As a huge fan of Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed I was eager to play this game and my hopes were high. The new approach with team-based game mechanics is really interesting and is generally a good idea. Sharing items, boost your teammates with abilities and cooperating with them feels great and is rewarding.

But the handling, drifting, driving in general feels just clunky compared to the predecessor. You just never feel fully in control of your vehicle. What are new coop-mechanisms good for if the base game isn't well engineered? In addition the tracks are bland and even reused. They are also not terraforming like they did in All Stars Racing. Transforming has also been discarded and since the developers choose to only use Sonic-Characters we even have fewer drivers. Level Design and Graphics are fine.

In conclusion it can be said that Team Sonic Racing isn't a bad game but compared to the predecessor it just can't compete. For me Team Sonic Racing was a disappointing experience.
