Think of it as a test bed for Bohemia's new engine. Much more simplified than traditional Arma, to accommodate console players I would assume.

Alright, now I understand a lot of people have issues with the grind of the game and "blah blah blah".

My counter to all of those people is that low tier is more enjoyable and requires MORE skill than high tier, that's right I said it. It's a completely different game when you enter rank V+, and that's a good thing. Personally I have done the grind for a couple nations to top tier and I always find myself going back to rank III and flying around a P-40/SBD-3 instead of an A-10 or F-16

The game has issues, bugs, and balance problems. I will 100% confirm that 'Russian bias' is a real thing, however this is more prevalent in the higher tiers. I see and hear a lot of complaints about the game and that's fine, everyone's entitled to their own opinions (If you feel that way then stop playing lmfao).
The problem I see with those complaints is that no other game, let me say that again, NO OTHER GAME is like War Thunder. There is not a game out there that has the option to play arcade, realistic, or simulator modes in a vehicular combat game.

I personally think the game is amazing. It can drive you insane in one match and make you feel unstoppable as a 1 man army killing the entire enemy team in the next match.

It's not perfect, nor will it ever be. Most long time players I think can agree that the game was in it's prime pre rank VI. We will never see the game in a state like it was before the release of air-to-air missiles, and that's a sad reality; but it's just the reality we're in.
