4.9 Hours played
man i love payday 2 so much, you may look at this review and think, "how could he love payday 2 so much with only 4.9 hours in the game". my simple answer is that it takes even less than that to appreciate the true splendor this game brings. payday 2 is the culmination of such elaborate and purposeful design, providing a product and experience unlike any other. the tags of the game, "co-op, action, fps, heist, looter shooter" do not do justice to the boundary breaking this game does in each of these categories. starting with co-op, you are allied with your friends, those you trust the most, in such high octane circumstances you learn to rely on and provide for your team. this brings me to action, the true and suddenly realized adrenaline you hear when you come face to face with the enemy "cloaker" or have to juggle the tedious tasks of thrusting the "f" key to keep the civilian hostages down and fending off the ferociously fortified firearm flaunting officers. the gun-play in this game is second to none, playing games like csgo, i now see their attempts at such a system of gameplay is a meager attempt at replicating that of payday 2. payday 2 reinvigorates the heist genre for our generation, interposing items, trials, and elements unseen in any game before and likely after. after playing this game, you come to terms with the fact you will never play such an amazing a beautifully constructed piece of work which we are forced to inadequately and modestly call a "game". payday 2 is so much more than a game, it is revolutionary, it is the greatest game of our generation and likely of all time.
