Pirate the game. The remake is just A.I. upscaled by rockstar devs. Besides, it has framerate issues even on PS5, it runs worse than Crysis 3, let that sink in for a moment.

Story (No Spoilers)
The game puts you in the skin of a painter struggling with his work and sanity. The way the story is told to the player is something uncommon in most games, you won't be forced to sit through long cutscenes, most of the story can be understood by collecting notes and objects (very similar to the Amnesia games). The way you play the game can lead to three different endings each of them with their ups and downs.

Gameplay
The game doesn't just throw tons of jumpscares at the player, it knows how to build up enough suspense to make them have a real impact. There is a good freedom of interaction with objects in the game, though it could be improved upon. The mind twisting rooms in this game perfectly represent the insane mind of the painter as you swim through his madness.

Graphics/Performance
This game was made in the Unity engine, the graphics are amazing. The lighting is very cohesive with reality, so some places can be too dark. So I advise the reader to make sure to adjust the monitor accordingly before diving in. It has great textures and creates an immersive experience that screams 20th century in every object or piece of furniture. From the candle holders to the chandeliers everything is perfect and it makes sense.

Audio
The soundtrack is amazing, it really brings a lot to the game's atmosphere, there's a lot of distinct sounds that will make you jump out of the chair everytime in a different way.

Gameplay

After playing the first 30 minutes of this game, it reminded me of the freedom of interaction I had playing Half life 2. You can interact with almost anything, rotate, zoom. I've played games like outlast and Alien Isolation, so I expected something similar to those two. In this game you don't have a gun so you'll be running away from enemies frequently which sometimes can be as fast as you are. They react to noise, so you can distract them to get past unnoticed. The interaction with doors and some eletronic equipment is made using a device called omnitool.

Story (No Spoiler)

The story reveals itself to be very intriguing, it's something you'll keep thinking of for a long time after you've finished, like bioshock infinite for example. The game lasts around 8 to 9 hours, which you spend exploring various locations to discover what happened to you and how you got to that place, something similar to the amnesia games. This game greatly blends many concepts used in another games to make a very enjoyable and unique experience.

Graphics and performance

Great visuals in amazingly crafted environments with nice lighting, I've experienced some two slowdowns in my hours of gameplay but nothing serious enough to break my immersion, some textures could use improvement.

Audio

This is one of the most important things in a horror game and this one just nails it, the environmental sounds will keep you scared even when there's no enemies around and make you have a heartattack when they appear, the voice acting is great.

Gameplay

The game is a classic platformer/shooter where you fight your way through enemies like soldiers, planes, helicopters and tanks. POWs can be rescued to give you rewards like a new gun (machinegun, shotgun, flamethrower, dropshot, granades) or some random item. By fighting until the end of the stage you'll reach a boss, since this is the first title, they are not as cool or hard as in metal slug 3 or metal slug X. The game is also the shortest compared to the other two, in spite of having six levels, it can be finished in an hour or less. The coop mode allows you to play with another friend online or locally using another controller which is tons of fun.

Story (No Spoiler)

General Donald Morden and his army are taking over the world, you are part of a group named "Resistants" that is formed by the surviving members of the regular army which had failed a counter-offensive to overcome the rebellion, losing metal slug tank prototypes to Morden. It is your mission to stop him and reclaim the prototypes.

Graphics and performance

This game has a very beautiful nostalgic art style. The problem is an absurd amount of constant slowdowns. Of the three titles avaliable on steam, this one has the worst performance.

Audio

The stage music, the shooting, explosions, vehicles sound effects are appealing, enjoyable and addictive.

Gameplay

Released in 1999, this game is an improved version of game metal slug 2 from 1998. The mechanics are still the same as the previous Metal Slug games. You have 2 new weapons, a laser gun and a fire bomb. Some characters you save will now help you in battle. The game is a classic platformer/shooter where you fight your way through enemies like soldiers, planes, helicopters and tanks. POWs can be rescued to give you rewards like a new gun (machinegun, shotgun, flamethrower, dropshot, granades) or some random item. You can use tanks, camels, helicopters and planes to destroy your enemies. The bosses are well designed and change their attacks as you inflict damage, you can choose between four characters, the coop mode allows you to play with two of them at the same time online or locally.

Story (No Spoiler)

Morden is back! With the help of two new characters, Eri and Fio, you have to once again stop morden and his army in their quest to take over the world.

Graphics and performance

This game has a very beautiful nostalgic art style. There are some slowdowns which can be annoying but they won't interfere much with your overall experience.

[English] [Português abaixo]
Excellent game, it has a great mix of action with horror.
- Great Graphics considering it's a 3DS port, it supports the max resolution of 1440p and doesn't require a powerful machine to run at solid 60fps.
- Gameplay is fluid and responsive.
- A great variety of weapons and upgrades.
- The game's story is really solid and addicting with interesting character development, also full of monster killing/punching/pulverizing.
- Exploration of supplies/itens in game was made more interesting using Genesis, It's not the British rock band, it's a tracker of biomass/itens.
- Raid mode (coop mode) is quite fun to play with your friends, you can unlock funny/odd characters and weapons and it has 20 stages with 3 levels of difficulty each (Chasm/trench/Abyss) plus one extra stage called "the ghost ship".

Story (No Spoiler)

This game is about the journey of Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley. It begins fiftenn years after the first alien movie (1979), Amanda is after the flight recorder of the Nostromo to discover what happened to her mother. The story is amazing, it can last up to 17 hours and it feels like you're inside an alien movie all the time. It is intense, addicting and terrifying.

Gameplay

The game is played in first person. You can craft itens to survive such as noise devices to distract humans, you have a gun in this game and despite being useless against the alien it can be useful against other enemies. There's a suvival mode to see how long you can survive in a map with the alien. You can use vent ducts to move around but beware the monster also uses them, when the time comes and he is on your tail you can hide in lockers, really small lockers, under beds, under the floor and lots of other places which are not completely safe, so expect your heart to pump out of your chest when the beast is starring at your hiding place.

The Alien

The alien's A.I. is almost as terrifying as he is, it'll make you frustrated. The alien will respond to noises from shots to footsteps, so be careful and only use loud gadgets when there's no other choice.
It is afraid of fire, so molotovs and the flametrower can be useful. It can also be distracted with flares, so be careful when you use them in the dark.

Graphics/Performance

It is incredible how they manage to make all the assets so similar to the ones in the movie, the spaceship design, the door mechanism, the clothes, the toys, for the alien movie lovers like me this was amazing. The performance is great, it works perfectly with no stutter or any immersion breaking problem at the highest settings, my pc specs are below.

PC Specs

Processor: Core I7 2600k
RAM: 16GB
Motherboard: Asus Maximus IV
Graphics Card: GTX 970

Audio

Not only the visuals, but the audio is also loyal to the movies. The alien's footsteps approaching, the voice acting, the eletronic devices, the door opening sounds, the amazing orchestra that scares you more than the alien, all this coming together to deliver one of the best horror games you have ever played.

Story (No Spoiler)

You are Kyle Crane, a GRE operative with the mission to get in contact with Kadir Suleiman and secure the a secret file that contains vital informantion for mankind to survive the outbreak. The game starts with you arriving in the quarantine zone of Harran using an airplane.

Gameplay

The game brings a very fun way to move around a town infested with the living dead by using a set of parkour moves, from jumping from roof to roof to falling down an antenna tower on top of gargage bags you can also use ziplines, a grappling hook or a pyza suit. There are several skills that can be unlocked as you level up, you'll be able to ram enemies, as well as breaking their necks, their skulls, throwing freezing/burning/explosive ninja stars, luring them to deadly traps. The weapons rarity is similar to the dead island franchise, you have the white, green, blue, violet, orange and the new yellow tier, they can be repared only a few amount of times after breaking forever, but this can be extended as you progress. Beware that a rare weapon can be as weak as a common one if it's level is too low. The weapon variety is vast, by looting or buying you can acquire bats, axes, swords, knives and a lot more, they can be modified using weapon blueprints adding elemental effects to your attacks and a very cool look to your carnage tool. At night the gameplay changes drastically, a great ammount of powerfull infected called volatiles will hunt you down, they are sensitive to UV light, that's one of your weapons at night as well as some light traps scattered across the map. This game has a multiplayer mode, you can bring three more friends to help you kill the infected in harran, there's also an invasion mode in which a player can enter your game as an infected. You can browse through a list of current games and see the other player's story progression to match your own.

Graphics and performance

The game has great graphics with a lot of customizable options such as view distante, film grain, antialiasing, DoF. The high quality textures, particles, shadows combined with the dynamic day/night cycle are pure eye candy material. The facial animations are very convincing and character models high detailed. The optimization is great, it works in the highest settings with at solid 60fps, you can check out my rig specs below.

PC Specs

Processor: Core I7 2600k
RAM: 16GB
Motherboard: Asus Maximus IV
Graphics Card: GTX 970

Audio

The voice acting is high quality, the game has a great set o ambient sounds that subtly change according to the place you go to. Making it feel very realistic.

Gameplay

The zombie killing methods are such fun! You can quickly build a weapon with some stuff laying around, the weapon combos are very cool, like a flamethrower using cooking oil and a leafblower or a lightsaber using jewelry and a flashlight. In the beginning of the game you can only carry 4 weapons at the same time, unlocking more weapon slots as you level up. The leveling system is nice, you unlock abilities that allow you to create weapons more easily, more health slots, stronger damage to weapon classes.
The vehicles are a great pro in this game, there's a mortorcycle + steamroller combo that can either crush or burn zombies, or even better, both at the same time, or a motorcycle with spinning blades in front of it.
The open-world in this game has a very reasonable size, one thing that I hated was the roadblocks, as you progress to the end you can barely move around without having to abandon your vehicle.
The side-quests have a time limit, which I think it's a cool way to encourage the player explore more of the game before the main story ends.
The controls are very responsive and the finishing animations are awesome.

Story (No Spoiler)

You're stranded in Los Perdidos in a middle of a zombie apocalipse your goal is to get the hell out of that place. You're not completely alone, some survivors will help you with that goal, although they won't be always by your side. The bosses are very weird and funny, but not hard to beat. The game's story is enjoyable, nothing excepcional but very funny, it can last from 18 to 25 hours depending if you do the side-quests.

Graphics and performance

This is a great problem in this game, it's locked at 30 fps, you can unlock it by editing a .txt file. But even then, the game doesn't hit 60 fps very often. Textures pop-ins are annoying, it can take up to 3 seconds for them to load, notice that my game was installed in a SSD. I'm using a GTX970 with a core I7 2600k and 16GB of RAM.
In spite of all this, the graphics are still beautiful, a G-sync or Freesync monitor could help a lot to improve the experience.

Audio

The audio quality is great, I did not notice any audio lag or disruption in my gameplay.

DLC

I liked the DLC's, you can play as some very interesting characters, showing their side of the story. There's also some extra blueprints of vehicles and weapons.
