far more approachable than i was expecting given everything i've heard about the series

i don't usually play "new games" but i spent full price on this one and i don't regret it for a second. it's not perfect, but it's a lot of fun, if you like a modern take on the old-school wrpg

Very solid zelda-like gameplay, neat combat systems, great music and visual design. Fantastic on that aspect alone.

But the story of this game is sweet, and tense, and fascinating, and compelling. The characters are lovely, and the world is complicated, and overall this is one of the most enjoyable experiences I've seen in a game in a while. The only way it could be better is if it was gayer.

This was one of my favorite games back on Playstation, and I was ecstatic to see it come out again here, remastered and with restored cut content.

Is it grindy? Is it a little thin? It's a jrpg from 1997, of course it is. But it's a lot of fun, with a lot of charm, and a gorgeous aesthetic. Absolutely beautiful game.

It meant a lot to a young me, also, to see a canonically lesbian protagonist back in the 90s. You just didn't get those in games.

it would be better if zagreus was a lesbian but overall this is a very fun game

This is one of the most amazing games I've ever played. It's the gaming equivalent of a Crank movie - over-the-top in all the right ways, never stopping or letting reality get in the way. Everybody has to play this.

This is a pretty lousy game, I wouldn't bother.
