Pros
  • Beautiful graphics and art.
    1. Vibrant & vivid at bright areas.
    2. Gloomy & dull (in a good way) at dark areas.
  • Orchestral soundtracks are very nice to listen.
    1. Soothing to hear at normal gameplay
    2. Goosebumpy soundtrack when you're finishing an element (every 1/3 of the game).
  • Puzzles are fun and challenging but not to the point that it's very hard.
  • Interesting and touching storyline. Easy to understand due to the very little need of using words to convey it.
  • Decent upgradeability of character.
    1. Skills are easy to use and a very important role in puzzles.
    2. Abilities to learn - Offensive, Efficiency & Mobility. Optional to perfect it but very helpful during your playthrough.
  • Unique save system which I personally like. Create a soul link at the cost of an energy cell which can be found commonly.

Cons
  • Short gameplay. Approximately 3 ~ 12 hours depending on how fast you, whether you skip enemies or not.
  • Missable collections. There are few life/ability/energy cells that can be missed and can't be obtained after completing the certain area.
  • Can't load the save after completing the game. This tool that allows you to play that save to hunt for secret areas/mapstone/cells for achievements. There's an energy cell in the Misty Woods(foggy map) that you will not be able to get (if you missed it) even with this tool.
  • Known bugs yet to be fixed. e.g. Ori moving in slow-motion but game FPS is at 60 or above 60.

Overall: 11/10
This indie 2D platformer game is one of the best, maybe even the best, that I've played so far. Can't wait to see what Moon Studios will throw at us next.
