Early Access Review
I am a big city builder nerd, and this game seemingly came out of nowhere for me. I had a lot of fun and was enjoying it initially, being able to play for multiple hours without realizing how much time had gone by. This game is early access though, and there are elements that definitely need polishing. The ideas present in this game are brilliant, it has solid historical accuracy, good graphics, the works. It's just that most of it isn't fully fleshed out yet. I started off having a lot of fun but have come to realize that I am getting slightly bored quicker and quicker. I can only create a town so many times before I'm simply bored of the process. It's amazing that this was all the creation of a single person, and this game is well worth picking up when it's on sale, or when it gets closer to a fuller release state.

the cinematic trailer that is on this steam page is actually VERY accurate to the game.
- claudette tries to hide, instead of doing a gen. her teammate (jake) tells her to do the gen instead of hiding.
- claudette works on the gen but is wanting to hide, so she walks away to try and hide and is punished for her actions (gets downed and hooked)
- jake sticks the gen because he knows objectives need to be completed, even if the killer is right there (he can't run anywhere and killer likely has NOED)
- jake is punished for his teammates' mistakes, getting downed while another teammate is on the hook (bad situation)
- gigachad dwight stares down the killer (instead of unhooking the non-gen doing claudette, probably looking for a locker)

whoever designed this piece of marketing encapsulated the dumb, cowardly, brave, altruistic, and very minor group of gigachads that we call the playerbase for this game. bravo.

OH and this game will make 9/10 people cope. really hard. play to have fun, not to sweat.

This game is in such a tough spot for me.

As someone who grew up playing the Lego games, not just Star Wars ones. Technically speaking, this game is magnificent with the amount of things you can do, as well as the visuals/audio. They are all leaps ahead of their predecessors, especially compared to the original Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga game.

Gameplay wise, however, these games take steps backwards. The easiest way I can describe this game is that it is akin to Assassin's Creed games, where you have A LOT of things to do, but nothing of substance. While old Lego games involved a huge number of quests to acquire bricks and whatnot, the activities and challenges you did were a lot more varied and creative. In this game, there isn't a lot of variety. Of the things that are here, the creativity is lacking. It led to me getting bored and I couldn't be bothered to slog through half of the quests on half of the planets because I couldn't stand grinding the same repeated quests any more.

The other main irritant is the way that characters are handled. I won't get into the voice lines vs mumbles debate, although I firmly believe the mumbles and old style of talking had a lot more charm to it. Characters, as opposed to having a huge roster of distinct and unique characters, are now broken up into certain classes of character (you have Jedi, Scavenger, Bounty Hunter, etc.). These classes result in characters not feeling unique anymore, since each class MUST have a distinct class ability, they are required to be able to do things that don't make sense for that character. Because characters don't feel as unique, it makes the process of acquiring new ones a lot less satisfying than the past.

The way that DLC is being handled is also a headache for me personally. I know that Disney is coming out with more Star Wars products/shows as time goes on, so TT obviously couldn't fit everything into the game without an easy compromise. But the way that character packs are being doled out is seriously irritating. Because they are ONLY characters, they run into the previous issue that I wrote about characters themselves. They boil down to skins of a certain class. Which is sort of acceptable if the pack has characters that all fit into different classes, but is absolutely absurd when packs have nothing but one or two classes in them (such as the trooper pack). It means that packs will have different value associated, and like I said before, they are only skins for classes. They don't include any other content of any kind. No levels, ships, areas, etc. What's worse is that these packs don't get included for those who buy the Deluxe Edition, which, for an extra $10 USD, nets you a couple included character packs.

It is disappointing because again, this game should and could be one of the best Lego games of all time. If this game is on sale, then I'd say it might be worth buying. Or if you're unable to play previous Lego games or really just want to play the latest and greatest and don't have an interest in any previous games. But otherwise, I do not recommend buying this game in its current state. I didn't even mention the technical issues that this game runs into, as well as a myriad of UI or quality of life issues that also hinder the user experience.

An excellent game. Excellent world, enemy, music and quest design all around. This was my first Souls-series game and I have already beaten the game 3 times, and I plan on continuing with different builds. There are still things I have missed, didn't explore, didn't collect, or didn't catch on my playthroughs, which is why this is an amazing game. The difficulty has been toned down slightly, and even the dreaded end or post-end game bosses aren't as bad as they were upon release. There are still technical issues here and there, the most notable one being an occasional stutter or screen-tear, but for the most part, the game is beautiful in its presentation and sound.

I would recommend this to anyone who is into adventure or RPG games. For anyone who is scared because they didn't think or didn't enjoy previous Souls-games, this game is the one for you. It has plenty of mechanics to soften up enemy encounters or make things easier. The game also isn't as punishing as previous titles. You might see that and wonder if that would make the progression detrimental, but it doesn't. I always felt an immense sense of joy whenever I finally beat a boss, challenge, or completed a questline. You will not get everything on your first playthrough, and I would seriously advise against searching up anything regarding quests or story on your first run, unless you are genuinely lost after trying for some time.

This is a solid game. It is worth all $60. If it goes on sale, pick it up, even if it's only a dollar off. It is a steal that this game is $60. I am looking forward to challenging myself and playing older Souls-series games.

This game isn't that terrible. I think you really have to overlook major gameplay, story, and visual flaws to actually enjoy this game, though. I think it's extremely misleading to classify this as a tactical, stealth, or any of the other titles the developers have claimed this shooter to fall under.

Sure, you can technically approach any situation you want, but in reality, approaching and killing the target you're assigned to (which is 99% of the gameplay apart from secret weapon caches/secret platforming sections for a reward and the stock market minigame) boils down to a pretty simple gameplay loop. You spawn outside the compound where the target is. You walk around and locate the one, sometimes two doors that you are funneled through (since there are no creative ways to hop the walls or breach the fence, etc etc). You then proceed to mow down any security/guards that are there, whilst a group of civilians run around going ballistic, which doesn't even matter because there are no consequences for killing said civilians. After eliminating everyone that's in your way, as you make your way from room to room, you eventually find the boss and just kill them. They're even marked on your screen. Not on a map, not giving you a description and having you have to carefully discern who the target is by talking with NPCs and tracking down your prey, none of that.

That is one of the breakdowns of the claims that these developers have put on this game description. And while I could go on about each one, I really don't care enough to do so. I don't hate this game, and honestly if I could give it a "Meh" rating then I would. But you have to overlook major flaws in game design just to like it, and not be turned off by the visual direction that the game is set in.

As someone who devoted too much time to Rainbow and doesn't enjoy its new direction, and also misses the COD games of old and doesn't want to pay $60 for something like Black Ops, this game is perfect. This game rides the line between the tactical CBT of Rainbow 6 with low health and one tap headshotting, as well as the laid back nature of running and gunning anything you run into. There are some things that I get really frustrated at: odd vaulting/jumping mechanics, annoying ADS mechanics, camping snipers/semi-autos that one tap anyone, etc etc... but the game is enjoyable at its core. I think the game is worth something more like $20 so I'd wait for a sale.
