i just finished endwalker and after all 4382 hours of gameplay, i thought it was time to make my first detailed review of this game. im sorry for any gammar mistakes, im not a native english speaker ^^


Short answer: This game basically changed how i view games as a whole and basically just made me love story driven games even more than i used to do. its not perfect by all means, but if you are looking for a story driven game and to spend thousands of hours in it than please dont wait a sec for it. its worth every penny that i spent.




Long answer: Im gonna try to review the game so far (up until the end of endwalker, 6.0 thats where im at the moment in story) and try to cover everything about this game, the good and the bad without spoiling anything.

Sub: Unfortunately this game can only be played thro a subscription, can be either monthly or yearly. of course you have the f2p option but dont be foul by it, it cuts out alot of side content and what you can do inside the game. basically you can only play story until lvl 60 and heavensward content for free thro the whole time i believe, but everything else that puts the game together, isnt there for you to see or enjoy, so you end up not enjoying it as much but still regardless, its a good way to start if you want to check this game out and try it for yourself.

Story:
ARR Story (A realm Reborn Story): idk how to cover this topic without spoiling but i will try (again) to be spoiler free here. the story starts really really really slow paced and you are thrown into this world were you dont know anything about it and even tho its slow paced story, it does a good job in explaining what the heck is going on around you and thats the good news. bad news is if you dont like slow paced story (like i did) you will end up skipping it but since its the basic of the basic of the world building of basically how this universe works that if you skip, later on, its gonna show gap in the story (dlc wise and other content too). i know its 50 levels of slow paced story and i know atleast 50% of people that buy the vanilla game end up quitting here, its that slow. However, if you have a friend, i would advice you to bring it with you so you dont end up quitting here. but if you are playing it solo, i advice, taking it slow so you dont burn out or get bored with how slow story is. But after ARR story is done, theres the post patch story, and althought its a preparation for heavensward, it still takes too long to explain and you end up just seeing yourself rushing. my advice for this part of story, either bring a friend or do other content ingame while doing MSQ (main scenario questline which is story).

Heavensward, Stormblood and Shadowbringers Story: So.......after that long walk of slow paced story, you are finally on the dlcs. tuturu~ :D story here is not boring anymore and if you paid attention to ARR story, you kinda have a idea of whats gonna happening in heavensward. if you didnt, well story kinda hints you at whats happening but you still feels theres something missing overall. Dlc story in general starts really slow, explaining you where you are and the background (each dlc is a new location inside the universe). Personally i think each dlc here topped each other (personally not stormblood for me, even tho the main hub (kugane) in stormblood is my favourite spot to hang out and since im a weeb (kinda) i just like the japanese theme like and it just suits me :D But returning to what i was saying, each dlc topped each other in my opinion, shadowbringers being the best out of HW (heavensward), SB (stormblood) and ShB (shadowbringers).

Endwalker story: Until i reached Endwalker, basically thro the whole time, my mind hanging in there the whole time, a bit more slow paced than the other dlcs at first but eventually came the thing that changed everything for me....the last two hours of the dlc. A little side note, i cried in each dlc, but not as much as i did in endwalker. Basically upon reaching the last area of the dlc, i just felt a pile of emotions, slowing pilling up until i reached a moment during the most painful moment during the dlc where i just couldnt anymore and began crying and crying. Basically felt that my soul got crushed only to be fine again, only to again feel crushed again by those same emotions again. for two hours....it was brutal to me emotionally but its why i loved this dlc so much, it made sense. it only felt right in being brutal even tho my mind didnt agree on it. for me it truly was the end of a journey...a feelwalker. i mean endwalker :3
but jokes aside, overall i just feel like it was the right ending (not gonna spoil it :3) even tho my mind says no, i know its the right end.

Gameplay: its slow paced at first but the more abilities you unlock the better and more fast paced it becomes. thats all im gonna say :)

Side content: Theres alot and alot and alot of side content if you are bored with msq. theres daily roulettes (basically your main way to level a side job), theres beast tribes, normal raids, farming relic weapons (i have a few but its time consuming so i ended up waiting to do it after im done with msq), pvp (not my coup of tea but its doing alot better after the release of endwalker, its more fast paced and i just simply love it now even tho im not much of a pvper, i like how it is now compared to the literal garbage it was before), mount farming and so much more you can do. basically hours and hours of side content :3

Raids: Well what if you dont care about story and just wanna do something else a bit more challenging than normal content? well you have raids :D normal raids, extreme trial, savage content, ultima content, the endgame for tryhards. Sadly it can only be reached after you are done with story. or if you can afford it, you can buy a skip to get to endwalker and buy a job skip aswell so you can speed things up basically and after a few days of skipping, you can finally work your way thro raiding :D its challeging and demanding of your time but im sure you dont mind, so you can get the best gear in the game and so you can flex to everyone that you are, THE ultimate legend :3

Classes: in this game its called jobs, you can pick a "main" job at the start but after you reach lvl 10 of your main job storyline, the guildmaster just says, "you learned everything, you can go to another guild". basically you can pick other jobs WHILE having a main job, all in the same character, which is way more practical than in wow hehe but also alot more messy with inventory management since you have multiple gear for multiple jobs so you always are cleaning your inventory which is fine (つ﹏<。)

Glamour: AKA your gear, basically how you dress up in game. For many people, the true endgame and possibly the reason why i raid, mostly for the best gear yes but if i see a gear that i think will be best suited for my character, i will be sure to spam that content until i get it so that i can flex it hehe :D

Conclusion: Basically the best game ive ever played, it just hooked me up since heavensward but it did even more after endwalker. Been playing this game for two years and a half now (with a few breaks due to burn out but that was my fault basically) and i dont think i will stop playing this game.
