While right now I may be new at this and play absolutely terrible...with no map knowledge and at the moment blissfully ignorant of the issues I'm sure this game still has...

The simple fact that I can drive around in a little hovercraft makes it all worth it. And as the self-proclaimed and self-appointed World's Greatest Hovercraft Appreciator™ I declare this is a good game.

At the moment the biggest bugbear was the EGS third party bit required for the online multiplayer. What makes it sting more is it wasn't really communicated at all before the game launched. I'm pretty sure all the disclaimers were added after launch, but I'm not 100% certain. Surprise!

If that's an absolute no sell for you, why not look into the Simple Series where this series got it's start instead? They're all budget titles (albeit some strange ones, and not all of them may be translated into english) across a few systems. Look 'em up! There's some real bangers in there. Only thing else you'd need is the right *ahem* Spicy Virtual Console™.

As an EDF title it is still the same loveable B-movie game but it builds further off of EDF 5 (you know, how sequels work). So far it has run well despite all the nonsense happening all at once. It does have some longer load times. The very first mission is a painfully slow tutorial but once you get through that the pace picks up really quick. And it feels like they introduce new enemy types more quickly, so that's nice.

The voice of the sergeant the boonie hat kind of sounded familiar. Like if David McKay was doing his Quinze voice he did in the Gundam Wing english dub, but as a drill sergeant. I know it sounds weird, but it works! I don't know if David McKay actually did any VA work in this game or not. If not, then whoever you are...amazing job ;_;)7

Also the Free Bike- excuse me, its something like Freed1 now- still has extremely mysterious physics.

cool red scarf/10 Would fight for earth and the orange and purple sergeant from EDF 5 again

Good arcade port

caveats:
-Much like Neo Geo Battle Coliseum on the PS2 if you use a pad you are stuck using the d-pad and the analog stick is useless
-training mode features such as input history/display? lol, lmao
-character select timer in training mode wtf

I assembled a team of various skeleton mans to attack a red glowy horse that, after taking a few hits, decided the best course of action would be to explode and kill me.

10/10 Now with more QoL and a ~*~REAL FRAMERATE™~*~

If you liked the previous Rune Factory titles you will probably like this one.

There are some performance issues, however there is a community fix in the form of 'RF5Fix' (there's a github page for it) that addresses most of the problems.

Also, since this is on steam and not switch: no joycon drift! Hooray!

I think the first thing to do before you play this is to go to the settings and turn down the sound effect volume (its maxed by default). The first Wanted™ enemy is a flower (?) that shoots out explosive orbs and spawns smaller versions of itself, and between it and all the pew pew sounds you make you can barely hear the excellent boss music (Wanted Anonymous, a version of the Wanted track they've been using ever since Metal Max 1 'cause if they nailed it the first time why reinvent the wheel).

good boys/10 would give a shiba inu a sombero again

"Wolves often spawn near this campire but surely they wont accost my camp" I said as I was accosted by wolves who broke my camping set and got me stuck outside at night time.

I then see a funny shape move in the distance. "Surely whatever that is won't kick my ass" I said as I was getting my ass kicked by the funny shape that happened to be a chimera.

10/10 would burn another ferry stone in glorious retreat again

A fun, relaxing puzzle game with, like Wingspan, some of the most relaxing and cozy music I've ever heard.

Also I named a cat Jim and gave him a lil froggy hat and a backpack for adventures 10/10

Just as peaceful and relaxing as the Wingspan OST. Thank you Paweł Górniak and Antek Jastrzębski ;_;)7
