I will be honest, right off the bat I will say this is terrible way to experience the original game. At first they claimed this to be another possibility for remake, showing 1:1 scenes with updated graphics, but that's all you're going to get in this messy gacha package. The story is incredibly stripped down with many scenes being straight up deleted or reduced to form of simple white text on black background, all that to keep the player interested and mow down the extremely short missions. The combat is also very much dumbed down, and all of these issues just keep piling up from now on, one of the biggest being taking away the core part of FF - exploration. All weapons and else is acquired through gacha. This comes with the addition of Square Enix being greedy and having terrible gacha rates, but at least there is something called Stamp system for exclusive outfits and weapons that guarantees you the five star drops after certain amount of pulls (which will still be A LOT). It's a fun time killer game for people that already played the original OR for people that dislike the original for how outdated it is and just want to get little modern tl;dr recap. This comes with the issue of the game not being done though. There are some positives however as well, such as the original midi soundtrack being faithfully remade in modern sound with almost 1:1 accuracy, there's campaign for Sephiroth's backstory, Before Crisis which was never available in english, let alone on PC, and of course for modders and others alike there's various new outfits and weapon models that can be ripped from game files.

Denuvo is causing stutters and the DLC songs cost as much as the base game, buy the VIP edition or pay twice as much later...
Otherwise great game but even better with mods

One of the most mid games I have ever played. It started pretty good, the artstyle was nice though as time went and the game dragged, the interest was declining. Repetitive, low effort, low budget and often cringe game with unremarkably bland soundtrack and dungeons. Soul Hackers 1 is dated but the genral direction and cast is MUCH better than whatever Persona clone were they trying to do with this. I just can't connect with anything that this game offers and it pains me, because I thought it would be genuinely good. Might be fun time-killer if you can somehow grab it for like 10€, that kind of price could give the game some worth

A game about demons is locking iconic demons like Mara or Satan behind Day 1 DLC, not to mention the price tag. I could tolerate Nemissa or so, but this is still an awful decision, where demons that were always present in the main games are sold separately.

Day 1 story DLC that easily could and SHOULD be part of the main release

First of all, the outfits and soundtracks were not working properly which they fixed 4 days after the release. Further proof of how ATLUS just don't care about their customers and are fine with releasing overpriced broken garbage. Cherry on the cake are the costumes appearing only in battles. There is a mod that enables them everywhere, but relying on players for something like this is unacceptable. The outfit physics while using this mod can appear broken sometimes which makes it clear ATLUS never intended for this to happen. Music is alright, Soul Hackers 1 battle themes make this game more enjoyable at least

Complete garbage, obvious afterthought and riddled with cringe and woke propaganda. That is the summary of LiS: BTS.

This prequel adds absolutely nothing to the original game, it barely expands the story and makes you hate some of the characters even more than before. It leaves lots of things between the end of BtS and start of LiS unexplained. Lots of plot holes, boring filler scenes and nonexistent character development. The writing is incredibly bad, characters have unrelatable behavior and there's insane amount of political woke agenda.

Before the Storm is a mediocre experience that can be hardly recommended to anyone, not just the original LiS fans, unless you are cringy 14 years old teenager that finds these things funny and cool. The backtalk mechanic replaces reversing time. How it works is basically making childish remarks to win an argument. The cringier the answer, the closer you are to victory.

The soundtrack is pretty great though.

If you value your time and the lingering positive feelings that the first game made on you, avoid this game. BtS takes huge dump on the original and completely misunderstands what made the first game great to begin with. It's disrespectful and wasted opportunity.

Simply awesome! Found it totally randomly and it sort of reminded me of Yume Nikki, guess it does borrow some elements of it, but other than that, it also has dialogues in visual novel style, which is awesome. Love the artstyle and love the soundtrack, for a 40 minute prologue it got me really hooked and I'm seriously looking forward to see more! The achievements were also really fun to do, they weren't lying when they said everything has more solutions than one.

In short, you get pretty interesting and great rpg horror with great art style, soundtrack and gameplay. It's free, takes 40 minutes to complete and will grab your attention. This might be the best deal you'll see today.

Ths game has seriously huge potential, the aesthetics and combos are really awesome, but it comes with bunch of issues that I find hard to overlook.
Optimization is poor, the settings barely do anything. The loud distorted sound effects. Input lag. Animations taking too long. Terrible camera and lock-on system. Not being able to do anything once you get stunlocked and cornered. Frenzy mode timer is too short. Nothing about this game apart from the combo animations is fun, they throw at you countless hordes of enemies to challenge you, but it just makes the experience more obnoxious. There aren't any rewards, any upgrades, the dodge and parry is so bad it's almost pointless, some enemies have really poor keyframes that make parrying almost impossible to predict, even when it should be obvious, the movement is like slipping on wet floor, the combat is simply unbalanced. Button mashing is the only way to actually play this and hope that you get to the next stage.

Don't get me wrong, I love difficult games. I love the Dark Souls trilogy and many similar soulslikes, I also try to play most of games on hardest difficulty. This game however, is more like artificially hard. It's such a chore to play with most of its mechanics broken and unfair amount of enemies thrown at you that take 3/4 of your health in one hit. Unbalanced and obnoxious does not mean hard. It's clunky and chaotic mess that needs to be fixed asap. I know this isn't AAA game and probably less than 20 people worked on it, but that does not excuse the poor gameplay.

But hey at least it's free.

Unhinged madness that comes packed with sex jokes, lesbians, Ball Monokuma, great voice acting and various other fun dialogues. They managed to turn silly visual novel into action game with some minigames and it just works. Best Danganronpa game that's not really what Danganronpa normally is. The story is surprisingly dark with some characters having pretty brutal backstories. A game like this could never be made in the woke west. Western companies are scared and woke babies getting offended by everything. Which is also my favorite part about this game, that it's a VIDEOGAME offending westerners and making Twitter users claw out their eyes and roll on floor in despair. But hey at least they get the authentic Danganronpa experience if you ask me.

I do feel a bit empty after 100% it and arcade machines have sometimes obnoxiously broken RNG

9/10
