UPDATED REVIEW (12/20/2016)

Two patches after the release of this DLC, devs STILL did not fix the Hag's broken stun (Decisive Strike, flashlight blinds, and struggling out of the killer's grasp).

Not recommending this, it seems now the devs intentionally break Killers on release in order to attract new players for easy games.

UPDATE: So they finally fixed The Hag's stun for struggling and DS. I'm happy with the DLC now. My only worry is that the Hag's perks are underwhelming, as they rely on Totems to still be active and not cleansed by the survivors. As soon as they are, they Hag can't use that perk anymore.

Her ability is cool, but may need some adjusting. She can put down 10 traps at once, and I've encountered a few Hag players that trap hooked survivors so much that it's impossible to save them, with each illusion having collsion.

Ace's perks only seem to revolve around luck. "Ace in the Hole" and "Up the Ante" can really help others, but "Open Handed" I can see not a lot of survivors using, as aura reading abilities don't relate to the current meta of survivor perks.

I really, really, REALLY like this imag....er game!

But before you buy, this game IS a bit buggy. If you can look past that, this game will keep you entertained for hours. The devs truely care for this game, by releasing hotfixes and updates on a weekly/monthly basis, and do a Twitch stream every Thursday. They do communicate with their fanbase through the steam forums and on the subreddit, which is very cool of them.

The game itself is pretty challanging in lower ranks (low ranks meaning you're better), and gets your adrenaline pumping when the killer chases you, especially when it's "The Shape" (or Michael Myers). The perks are very interesting and aid you A LOT when you play. Some perks are just dead and shouldn't be used/should be reworked. Matchmaking is...eh..1 time you'll get in a match will people higher rank than you, and the next they'll be lower than you.

My concerns for the game right now are for them to balance some perks and optimize the game some more. I have a good rig and games like Rainbow Six Siege, I can run at higher framerates than this. AND GET RID of the toxic players (killers and survivors).

Pros:
- Adrenaline pumping - Survival horror
- Spooks you sometimes
- Unique survivors and killers
- Perks
- Michael Myers is a killer! (Extremely cool, and well-fitting power in the game)

Cons:
- Optimization is not the best
- Matchmaking is a not the best
- Some perks need re-working
- Dwight doesn't bite his nails anymore

Beings that I love this game, 9.1/10.

I tried refunding it even after all the achievements/hours I got into the game. Too bad I can't get my $60 back.

Out of all the purchases I've made so far in the Summer Sale (2016), Dead Space 1 is defintely the game that shines. I am always taken a great interest in survival horror games, such titles from the Resident Evil and Silent Hill series, so trying Dead Space is a breath of fresh air in this category since no prominent Survival horror games come to light to me.

In the game, you're constantly under attack by Necromorphs filling the USG Ishimura, followed by heat-pounding music (AND THE CREEPY "Twinkle Twinkle little star" that WILL get stuck in your head) when they pop out at you. Theres also a great sense of claustrophobia that Dead Space emitted to me, epscially when I encountered the regenerating necromorph in multiple rooms. Theres always long, narrow hallways and tight rooms where you need to enter that keeps you sweating bullets.

I also liked the puzzle solving and multiple objectives that are put in front of you in the game. The Main Character, Isaac Clarke, has the abilities of Kenesis (moving objects) and Stasis (slowing enemies). Both of these are craftfully used in BOTH combat and tasks throughout the game. It may feel stressful at times when the supporting characters pile more stuff even after 1 objective is completed, but it all adds up to something new. Plus, the Zero Gravity in Dead Space is fun to use, a bit annoying when trying to find a spot to traverse to, but it's needed to complete a lot of the game.

Of course to combat all the nasty bad guys in the Ishimura, Mr. Clarke is given a satisfying inventory of weapons to keep them dismembered. But to get these, your required to find the schematics of the ammo before you can fully use them. Thankfully, killing more neromorphs keeps you stocked on ammo and credits. I found that the aiming is a bit difficult to begin with, even with the sensitivity on high. This might be to accomodate how you kill the Necromorphs because you have to shoot their limbs , but it's manageable.

The story behind the game is great to read/watch upon. I felt a lot of interest in watching the animated movies of Dead Space to learn more behind what happened BEFORE and AFTER Isaac Clarke got there. It's pretty tragic of how the whole downfall goes and how little crew members survived.

PROS
- Great Story, keeps me interested throughout
- Nice inventory of weapons
- Spot-On "Survival Horror"
- Puzzle solving
- Replay Value, keeps you playing for hours
- The "Store"

CONS
- Aiming is a bit slow and hard to get used to (increase sensitivity)
- Zero Gravity is hard to jump from spot to spot
- Not many "Survival Horrors" like this :(

9.5/10 score from me. Absolutely great game.
