This game is such a disjointed lopsided experience. After playing for a while, gameplay gets EXTREMELY repetitive and I find myself really only playing to get to the Nightlord bosses, which are easily the most fun you'll have in this game. Other parts become almost chore-like after you've experienced all this game has to offer, and it currently doesn't have much. And yet, I keep playing it. Rarely do I ever NOT have fun in this game, and when I don't, it's because I'm solo queue with idiots who refuse to acknowledge pings, die, and leave.

When I look at this game objectively, it shouldn't work. Objectively, this game is 95% asset flip that only has a fraction of content I'd expect from a studio like FromSoft. Gameplay mechanics work against each other, game information is obfuscated or otherwise just straight up not communicated to the player at all, and interacting with menus and trying to communicate to teammates is hilariously cumbersome.

Subjectively, though, this game is a blast. The presentation is amazing as always and there are so many opportunities to tweak and screw around with builds and game mechanics that you can't do in any other FromSoft game (well, in a soulslike at least - AC6 has similar build/mechanic depth) and it's for those reasons I keep playing it religiously. This just goes to show you how integral presentation and fundamental gameplay systems are to a gaming experience. There is a lot to be studied here about how, on paper, this game looks like it should be TERRIBLE, and yet, I find myself thinking "this is peak" constantly.

Overall, I think this game is a good play for any non-stick-in-the-mud souls fan.

I applaud FromSoft for stepping outside of their comfort zone and experimenting with new genres, although it does make me sad because this and base game ER feel like the last soulslike hurrah from them.

I'd pay $20 just for Divinity of the Office. That track makes me feel emotions I cannot describe

$40 for a game with minimal progression without microtransactions, constant game-breaking bugs, and extremely poor optimization. Will I stop playing though? No

(Resident) Evil Dead Time Crisis. And it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rules. Get this version on sale before they delist it. (games with remakes typically have their originals delisted at some point)

Surprisingly in-depth sim. In-depth for a "kid's" game anyway. Very easy to sink a lot of time into. A lot of missing things I'd like to have, but considering this was the first of the Backyard series, hopefully subsequent games remedy this. Worth $10 or less IMO.

played this with my fiancee after she played it first. the emotional and thematic feats this game pulls off are incredible. one of the only games i've thought about the characters and plot for days or weeks since my last play session; and when i think of them, i think of them less as characters and more as people. it sinks its teeth into you and never lets go. this game has haunted me with its completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ underbelly and i'm not sure whether or not i would even consider i am better off having played it, yet i hold the good moments in this game close in my heart; a fitting parallel to the statement i think this game sets out to make. play it if you're ok with it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with you mentally. if you're suicidal, maybe uhhhh come back to it later lmfao. just do NOT look at OMOCAT's (developer) socials.

BTW got secret ending first try im different

This is THE horror game. Until someone (somehow) makes something better, this will be the barometer of success for the genre for years. It has been and will be studied for decades. It is a marvel how this game instills fear even after dozens of interactions with the same enemies. An absolute, undisputed masterpiece that any horror fan, gamer or not, must experience. If you can't stomach playing it yourself, watch someone play it.

Delightfully simple-yet-complex easytolearnyethardtomaster deck builder that also scratches the gambling/lootbox itch. Play this instead of opening CS cases.
