making a good segment of their playerbase unable to play to seem like they're doing things to help, promising accessibility options while doing things to actively ruin the ones available, don't play it

this game has affected me in many ways, it's absolutely amazing but it definitely isn't for everyone, it's extremely difficult and you definitely need to put yourself into a different mindset to play it effectively

some relatively spoiler free tips for a new player
- don't be afraid to follow the yellow thing, we refer to it as "iggy," it'll give you a vague direction of where to go and important locales
- blue circles are food on your map
- creatures don't instantly go for you when you're on the screen, notice it's behaviors and how it'll act
- being grabbed is not the end, you may notice that your eyes may appear as >.< instead of being crossed out, this means you're still alive and have a chance of being free, one drum beat denotes a stun/knockout, two drum beats denote death
- don't be afraid to rest in a cycle early, just remember not to waste too much food, although it will eventually regenerate
- a creature's behavior can be very different from another's, don't expect the same encounter over and over, study carefully, treat them as real creatures and you'll have an easier time, they aren't always aggressive to you

this is one of the few games i beat in about the first 3-4 hours, then i played for 8 more. i'm going to play much more, and considering this review was posted when act 1 was released, i imagine when the next 2 come out, my playtime will only increase more and more over time.

update after act 2 layer 4:

i feel like my time on it alone tells how much i love this game, it's absolutely great and they just add more small mechanics to make it feel even better, experimenting is very much encouraged and i believe this game is genuinely a must have

this game is actually a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ masterpiece. the gameplay is fluid and feels amazing, while the story is interesting and will have you piecing together the plot for a bit.

please buy this game, you won't regret it.
