The best tactical shooter set during the second world war out there.
The experience is fresh and unique, the level of immersion and detaills is amazing.
No, seriously, every gun and every model is in a perfect 1:1 reproduction (Including tanks)
The sound design is astonishingly amazing (you'll feel every shot/explosion and the planes flying above your head will make you ♥♥♥♥ yourself).
The community is amazing, of course there are some exceptions for some servers where some people get too much into roleplaying and kinda ruin the fun, everyone else you'll meet (at least in my experience) will be friendly and helpful and will understand and help you if you ask them about things you don't know.
I'd say it is mandatory to have a mic to fully be able to play the game
The gameplay is very dynamic and teamwork based, it will be overwhelming at the beginning so i'd say just stick to one of you squad members and do what they tell you to do, after a few matches and some explaining from the other players you'll be ready to fully appreciate what makes this game so unique. You'll have to organize everything with your squad. Wether you're a normal squad, a logistics company or a tank crew it won't matter, you'll have to talk to your team and coordinate your actions). Talking about Tanks, this game has the most realistic tank combat you'll find in any videogame, for example, to learn how to aim with a tiger you can read real ww2 manuals and actually apply those rules to the game. The armor and its penetration is also perfectly simulated, with soft and hard parts, ricochet and holes.
The best part about the game is not how complicated it is nor the realism (even though they are arguably the most important part of making it what it is), it is the friends you make and the experiences you have.
During the Halloween event for example, the survivors (americans) had to use an halftrack to reach objectives and pick up explosive crates to blow up the enemy (nazi zombies) objective . Everyone was scared and we were all squashed inside this half track, i started singing blood on the risers without realizing my mic was on and a few moments later everyone our team became the US army choir on tour against nazi zombies. During that same match a guy who was playing his first match got lost and wounded in a field near one of the crates, some of us went full saving private ryan to save him because "no man left behind" while laughing our asses off because of the obvious suicide mission, against all odds we managed to reach him and save him. I could go on hours with stories like this but you already got the point. Experiences like this are what make this game worth every single cent you spend.
If you're thinking about buying it, go for it, at first you might feel overwhelmed, but then you'll be glad you did.

good community, good game, full 'nam experience (people in the trees and many, many deaths)
Run through the jungle as the main menu theme tells you what the game's vibe is going to be right off the bat.
Gotta love the smell of napalm in the mornin'

an absolute masterpiece on every single level, it improves every single aspect of the first game by 10 times.
jaw dropping story, great graphics, incredible gunplay, loveable characters, every choice has its consequences, and these consequences will affect the game's ending(s) in a butterfly effect way.

quick advice: buy the metro redux bundle, lower price, 2 masterpieces
also, if you want to experience the COMPLETE nuclear winter experience read the books.

stop wasting your time looking for bad reviews, the only reason this game has them is because metro exodus was ported to the epic games store first instead of steam.
