A beautiful, underrated game that deserves more attention. The game is incredibly beautiful with its Sumi-e ink art style which is a joy to look at. Combined with a rich traditional Japanese story, it gives an immersive and interesting adventure to experience through an open-world map inspired by the land of Nippon. Along with well-designed characters, it makes the story more interesting to look into.

For anyone who gets bored easily, this game is for you. The storyline is quite long and requires long play sessions to progress through the story. Monsters aren't too difficult with the perfect mix of strategy and pure combat. The main mechanic used in combat is the Celestial Brush.

The Celestial Brush is the main feature of the game, using 13 brush techinques to defeat your foes. The brush is easy and responsive to draw with. The techniques themselves aren't hard to draw and you will learn them quite quickly.

There are a few problems however. The game is locked at 30fps which might be a disappointment but it still runs great. There are no voice-overs for dialogue which might make the dialogue a little bland but the great storyline makes up for it. Long cutscenes are present but you can skip through them if you need to.

If you have ever played any of the Zelda games, I recommend to try out this game.
