What the critics have to say:

"funny internet meme man Gianni Matragrano voices yet another indie game's protagonist..." - IGN 2/10

"best new album by machine girl... game's cool too I guess" - Gamespot 1.5/10

"if you like those crazy ass japanese movies, then machine girl is definitely for you" - machine girl, thumbs way down

In all honesty though, game's great, has a really sick soundtrack, and is most importantly, mechanically sound. Never been a big speedrunner in any sense of the word, but this game definitely scratches that monke itch at the back of my brain that feels satisfaction each time I see my time improve as I replay each level. So definitely recommend.

Since Steam wants me to review a game for their event thingy, might as well do this one... right?

After completing my initial run of this game, I think it's safe to say that this is definitely the return of Metroidvania gameplay that I had been waiting for with much anticipation. The game takes elements from the gameplay of both of the best Castlevania games, Symphony of the Night and Aria of Sorrow, but doesn't take so much from either that this iteration simply becomes a retread of old territory. Instead, the game builds upon the basis of each and creates something that is just as intuitive and engaging as the previously mentioned titles, yet is very much it's own game. Overall, if you're looking for a new Metroidvania game to play and have already exhausted all your options (Heck you, should still play it even if you haven't played other Metroidvanias), then look no further.
