It is a bet I'm willing to make that this is probably one of the best if not the best commerical flight sim out there. The amount of time and effort put into this by the devs along with other people who help make the dlcs, etc. is absurd.

The flight model is modeled to accuracy, with engines going out under extreme g forces for extended periods of time, and wings being pulled of if you turn too hard. If you buy some of the high fidelity models, the entire cockpit is working and clickable, it's a bit jarring at first but after you get it, it's basically like flying and actual plane! (I can't emphasize this enough but if you are looking to get into aviation this is basically the coolest and closest thing you can get to the real deal.(

The only thing is that it very much emphasizes on the word sim, which isn't inherently a bad thing, just how you approach it. If you expect to sit down and be in the air shooting people down in 15 minutes and doing it well, your coming to the wrong place or you have the wrong attitude. This takes time, and if you're willing to commit it it will pay of ten-fold.

Lastly, as a preface, even if the game is marketed as free, you are eventually going to spend money, and lots of it. If you seriously want to get into the game and be immersed and not at an disadvantage, you are going to need to buy a hotas system, the general baseline being about $500 if you are looking at something that'll last you a while.

You are also eventually probably gonna want to buy a new plane, because neither of the free plane you have are really gonna be able to compete in the online world. You could go for flamming cliffs 3 which is probably for a biginner the best bang for your buck option, getting 6 (I think) low fidelity planes, which are easy to learn, perform well and all for less money than 1 high fidelity.

You might want to dive into the deep end right away and buy a high fidelity model. Be prepared to read PDFs and watch endless hours of videos to get proficient, but it feels even better than being good at the low fidelity planes.

Altogether you might be dropping up to $700 for a few nice planes and a good hotas system. This is not even mentioning the 32gb of ram requires for big servers, or VR/track ir.

Ultimately, if you're willing to pay up and dedicate a LOT of time to it, you will get one of the best experiences you can have.

Wait
I’m seeing a lot of negative reviews for this game and i’d like to write a review on my experience with the game to inform.

I tried the demo for this game on the 9th of April and I loved it. Being an avid enthusiast of the looter-shooter genre, I was exited to see a new game enter the scene. I finished the small part of the game that the demo presented and decided that I would invest the $60 and get the full game. I’ve been playing whenever time allowed since then and want to give my 2 cents.

(Disclaimer: I have played this game for about 5 hours total (demo and full game) so I don’t feel that tech issue wise I have been playing enough to be able to judge accordingly so I will update this review when I have put some more time in)

Story
The ingame story is ok. Practically a post-apocalyptic road trip. You have ok characters, but it seems that the game is just attaching more and more background without needing to. Such as at rift town, Jakub just kinda becomes Channa’s dad with almost no preface. He just, by chance, meets his “daughter” out in the middle of nowhere, spontaneously. When you meet Tiago, he happens to be the person who rescued August. You see? It’s just kind of bootstrapping the story forward with no real need.

Gameplay
The gunplay is fun. It’s more forgiving with aim and so far (i’m a quarter into the game) feels pretty balanced. The ARs feel like they do the amount of damage that they should, the snipers a feel strong, and then smgs feel light. The abilities are ok (I’ve yet to play any class apart from technomancer) specifically the ammo buff for the technomancer is really powerful and switches the game to easy for the duration. It applies a DOT (damage over time) effect that heals you while also flat boosting damage. Lastly, the looting in the game is GREAT. The pure amount of fun to be had with the loot is insane. You have weapon upgrading, mods, and some many choices. Every play style is different and there’s something for everyone (although the devs did nerf almost all the viable endgame choices into hell).

Bugs
Finally, bugs. Like I said before, I’ve only had about 5 hours to play, so I’ve had minimal exposure. I’ve only had 1 crash and no connection issues or character wipes (my condolences to the people who’ve experienced them).
THIS WILL BE UPDATED

Verdict
I feel you should try the demo before you buy the game, if you like it, sure, go ahead and buy it, if you don’t, don’t.

Also, I found this video that does a way better than I could ever do.

I see a lot of negative reviews and want to clear it up.

Although this is a smaller dlc, it is in my opinion one of the best. If you’re starting this season, most people are upset because a few old locations where removed and there wasn’t a lot of new content to replace them. I would say don’t be discouraged to buy this, because most of these reviews are written by people who are probably just salty, but I’d recommend buying Forsaken first because it provides LOTS more than this expansion.

For the people who are going around and spamming this with negative reviews because “they took away so much content and they gave us practically nothing” first of they gave us back the cosmodrome which is huge, and a bit of a nostalgia blast for that, and also Europa which is rather large too. And either way you weren’t going to play on those vaulted locations anyway. You had warnings and many people where saying that this expansion would be a bit lacklustre. Give a bad review when you find some real ♥♥♥♥ to complain about. It’s a bit ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying seeing people complain about things they were warned about 5 MONTHS IN ADVANCE.

Thanks for reading.

A great game, especially since it released for free recently.

Edit:

It was not free. The price off the pain inflicted on my soul and mind is immeasurable and I will suffer the consequences of my actions for the rest of my life.
