This is straight up one of the absolute best definitive editions/remakes/remasters or whatever you wanna call it out there. The original was a fantastically witty game and this game simply expands upon that and it does it perfectly. The writing is just as top-notch as ever and this was super worth the 3 year and 4 month wait! Remember kids, the end is never.

It's a really good game, but a bit lacking on content for $15, and NEVER, EVER, EVER look at the memes.

This is quite possibly the worst game I've ever played on Steam. I genuinely mean that, especially considering I've played some dumb games on here. I know that it's free, but I got scammed, scammed in the fact that this was meant to be a celebration of Chex Quest, but turned out to be a "clever" way to shill Chex Mix. The only reason the Chex Squadron is here (besides the main character from the OG version) was to lock them behind a PHYSICAL paywall. That's insane to me. This is actually a step down from Chex Quest 3, and that's not saying that 3 is bad, as it's the best way to play the game. You get the first 2 games along with a brand new adventure, and it looks so much better than this trash. The stupid HUD blocks the screen too and defeats the purpose of a HUD, to give a clear way to view things like statistics and stuff. They also changed the maps and made it a lot more frustrating than the original. You can't even rebind the controls, heck, you can't even SEE the controls. I couldn't even open the first dang door since it wasn't made clear that you cant just right click on the door itself and you have to click on a specific button. This game was supposedly developed with the help of the original staff of Chex Quest (or at least the main peeps, that is) but I highly doubt that they had any say as to what could be in this game. Thank god this is free, because if it was paid I would have somehow been 20x more aggressive than I am writing this. The other reviews would not be as happy as they are. Imagine hyping this up for MONTHS, only to release this trash! Please, just get Chex Quest 3 instead, and at that, HEY, put Chex Quest 3 on Steam, giving more people exposure to that way of playing a game. I was introduced to Chex Quest many years ago with the SpaceHamster video and after being a fan for this long, I'm OUTRAGED that is the trash we got. I wouldn't even recommend this to new fans of the series. I apologize for writing such a long rant, I'm normally not this mad, but I really wanted to warn people about how much of a dumpster fire this remake is. This is the first time ever that I've removed a game from my library, and that's saying something.

I give this a 3/10, only because it's free.

This game is average in every sense of the word. A poor camera, laughably bad cut scenes and more. But somehow, despite this, I LOVE this game! It is fun as all hell and is so addicting to see what level you'll do next, the few puzzles and nice exploration. It's all amazing. The only gripes I have with this is that for the best experience you will need to get BetterSADX which is crazy worth it, and cut scenes don't do the best job explaining what to do in certain cases. Other then that, this game is super fun and is sure to bring back some people's fond memories back.

P.S. This game is crazy low on sale! That's why I bought it and my god it is beyond worth it. At the time of writing this, it is on sale!
